8gb iphones are now 400. 4gb are going to be discontinued

There's a new iPod called the iPod touch which is basically an iphone without a phone or camera, and it starts at 400 for the 16gb and 300 for the 8g.

They're not replacing the iPod video though. They're introducing a new ipod called the ipod classic which is basically an ipod video at 350 bucks for the 160gb version and 250 for the 80gb.

They've got new shuffles and nanos too.

I'm thinking about getting the 160g ipod classic, it seems like a good deal.

I still haven't come anywhere near filling up my 80gb ipod.. in fact.. i am not quite sure where it is after I moved to the new camp...

Id get a touch but the memory is so low id have it for a year or so and there will be one with bigger capacity.
Classic though, sounds awesome.

Same here, if it was 80gig I would buy one now. The problem though is the touch uses flash memory, while the classics use a regular hard-drive. That makes the touch more expensive with much less memory. They wont be able to bump it up until flash memory comes down in price further (unless they do a hard-drive version, but I don't think they will).

I have a 40gb ipod almost filled up. 7 gigs of music, 26 gigs of pictures, and a bit over 2 gigs backed up files. If I could put videos on it I would be over capacity. I use an Ipod like a portable hard drive to back up files, that's why 80+ gigs would be useful to me.

160gigs of music? Probably not but I'm sure I could fill it with paintball videos, skate videos, tv shows, movies, etc. and still have plenty of room for games and music, and I'd still be able to back up and view my photos.

If you're trying to imply that its unnecessary you're wrong. Because space can always be used.

The touch will be cool when it gets a larger capacity (It's especially cool thanks to wi-fi.

I'm sitting on 40 (almost 41) gigs of music on my 80, so getting a 160 isn't that much overkill.

I think i'm gonna get one of the 8gig iPod touches...

I don't have that many songs, and I really dont need all the video ****, so I dont need all the memory of iPods nowadays. I mostly want it for the wi-fi access, because at school we have wi-fi all over campus so I can goof off during class.

The music is simply a side bonus for me, haha

I have an iPhone and I love it.

I scratched it, sent it to Apple for a new backplate put on, they sent me a lender the day I told them I'm sending my phone in, eventually, just sent me a BRAND new phone, and payed for the shipping for the lender phone.

I was going to get one, at at 400 bucks I am really thinking about it. I have seen youtube scratch tests, it holds up.

20 bucks a month isnt that much, although its really 20 + 400. If I got it I would need to pay the 20 a month, but I could with no problem. I need to decide if i wan take 400 out of a car fund to drop on an iPhone.

Wouldnt do that. Car can get you to a job, that can get you money, to buy the iPhone.

Yah I realize. But the phone will be outdated in the time I can drive. I only have my permit, and I cant even take the test time around February. I have no job now because lawns do not grow much right now and I can't cut them. I need to find a real job. I might wait until I get my A+ certification and work at Best Buy fixing ****.

by the time you have your license and a car they'll have a newer better version of the iPhone
