I cant decide on a ****ing tv..
Ive been debating what tv to buy for a couple weeks now.. I had settled on this:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN
but then I was in the store and saw this:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...091823&catid=#
im trying to go through the pros and cons.. but man..
32inch is pretty huge, way too big for my current apartment.. but I might only be living there for one more year.. and id prob be looking for some place bigger.. so itd be good then. but, in the mean time, I almost have no where to put it.. id have to rearrange my room.. cuz I wouldnt feel comfortable having it on this tall stand that my current tv is on.. the alternative would be to have it set back in my closest.. but then it faces the window and I hear that plasma are terrible for glare...
plus, its not an hdtv, its edtv, so its only capable of 480p, which I dunno, some times I cant really see the difference between 480, 720 and 1080, but maybe thats just me..
the 22 inch would fit a lot nicer in my room, and its not a bad size anyways.. and would probably be good for a medium sized apartment too. and it is an hdtv, capable of 720..
basically i want a new tv cuz I bought a 360 and have been playing it on a really nice crt 32in tv at my parents, so its gonna suck big time going back to a 19in crt tv that have some pixel damage at the top. no point in playing slick looking games like bad company and assassins creed on a crap tv.

22" all the way. Not only does it have 720P but it also has a better contrast ratio. The resolution isn't bad either, while the 32" resolution is actually bad.. Pretty damn bad to that. The 360 looks nicer in 720P also.

I'd get the 22' 720p. I've heard (never proven it to myself) that 360s like HDTVs a lot more and they look much better on them.

I have, I played on a 42" plasma and a 37" Standard def, the plasma looked a lot more clear and better colors.

Actually, what I'd suggest you do; is go to craigslist and look for TVs locally. I got a brand new 32" Sony Bravia with a small crack in the outer casing for 500. It must have cracked during shipping. They retail for 1100. So, I was pretty happy. The guy who sold it was really cool too.

I bought the el cheapo Vizio 22" from Walmart last week, I'm impressed with everything but the sound quality. Also makes a great computer monitor.

I've got a Samsung 42" Plasma and I ****ing love it. Paid $875 + $200 for the 4 year warranty but it was so worth it. Plus I sold my 61" Plasma for $900 when I got it for free. So technically, I didn't pay much for my Sammy.

I was gonna say...that's weird the larger TV you were looking at doesn't have the kind of resolution most plasma TVs nowadays get because of the transition to HD. If it wasn't for that I would've gotten the plasma for sure- they have better contrast, richer colors and you don't have the problem of not being able to see the picture well if you're not sitting relatively straight in front of it (like with any LCD screen).
Enjoy it though

550 for that LG? Is that canadian dollars? You should be able to find a decent 26 or 27 inch for under 500 USD
Do they have best buy where you are? Insignia is a brand they sell. Great quality and cheap price. I got my 26" 720p LCD flat panel for $460 18 months ago.
