I play counter strike alot and i started to play DOD. COunter stike works fine and dod works fine on some maps. HOwever on certain maps the game lags like crazy and is unpalyable, anyone know whats wrong? Its not the server because everyone else can play and the other maps work great. I have a 450mhz comp with a 16mb vodoo card with newest drivers and 250ish mb ram, crappy i know but should be more than enough for half life... Anyone have any suggestions?

Turn all of your graphical settings down to low. DOD has lots of particle effects and stuff that your computer won't like, especially when a grenade goes off by a bunker. My friend also has this problem, but even doing that didn't solve it completely. He has to get anew video card.

Its really wierd becase its only on certain maps, if i just set up a lan game and play alone it still lags like crazy while other maps work great. Do i really need more than a 16mb card for a half-life mod?

I think on the retail dod box the specifications are greater than or equal to 32MB...just because it's a Half-Life mod doesn't mean it can't have crazy particle effects.

16mb is VERY low for a video card. My 128mb works flawlessly, but the minimum i would suggest if you want to buy a new video card is 64, because new games wont work as well with the common 32's
