I'm borrowing an NES, and when i hooked it up to my tv, all it does is have a white screen, sometimes it flashes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

are you plugging it in with the 3 colored wires? check to make sure all the wires are right. Then make sure you put the game in all the way

The guy only gave me the cable hook up. I thought it was missing the red and white(i think)colored wires, but he told me you didnt need them.

You need the following

AV-Cord, you know the red, white, and yellow connectors
DC Adapter For plugging it for power

There is a single cord that you can buy seperately incase your tv doesn't have AV slots, it goes into wear the antenna goes but I dont know the details on that.

I didn't think the NES used RCA cables, but then again, it's been forever since I had one ( ) so I could be wrong. If it's got the gray box with a co-axial threaded knob on it, then I believe you run the co-axial that goes from your TV to the VCR into the NES instead. Put it on Channel 3, and I think it would work. You may have to mess with VCR settings if you run it through the VCR.

If that doesn't work, clean out the system using Q-tips. Get all the dust out. Same with the game. Blowing on it really hard (ok no jokes please ) will help clean it out.

Make sure you're on Channel 3 (or 4 if the NES is set to it...But I don't think they started making systems with channel selectors until SNES), and make sure all the wires are connected tight.

From the problem you've mentioned though, I'd just say the system or game is dirty, or the game is broken.

Yeah, lots of NES games will flash light blue, gray, light blue, gray, and it's usually just a matter of cleaning, or it is for mine!

I cleaned the games off with a q-tip and after hitting the NES lightly, they worked. Thanks for the tips guys.
