heres the problem i have a stock tippmann a5 and it hogs air like crazy
when i was playing with my frendie, i had a 20 oz w/ me
i olny got about 500 shots out of it and then it made that farting noise it always makes when you run out of air (a5ers know what i mean)
i was told the cyclone ran of the excess air from the blowback stage

i said about 500 and how dare you insult the mighty power of tippmann
the one thing i dont like about the cyclone is it sticks to the right like 2 inches( bad for a leftie like me)
it saves a lot of molaa because if u get a timmy you have to get a loader to perform to the specs of that gun. it would look crappy if you had a timmy with a plastic 3 dollar loader.
the empire b cost about half of the A5 and the A5 already has a force feed
and no i do not have any leak i checked for leaks the second i took it out of the package.
you would not believe what happened a week ago
i was playing a night game at a wooded area i was pinned down so i decided to make a run for a diff tree. my goggles were fogged up because they lost their anti fog crap
i stumbled on a tree root and landed head on into a tree. i kepted on playing laughing at myself. when i got back to my house i took apart my gun for rountine oiling. then i saw my front sight was gone!! it turns out my gun also collided withe the tree i will have to buy another one for the looks because the sights suck.
u better have read all of this because i type verry VERRY slowely
i would never have a leak maybe it was just a bad fill.

Actually you are wrong. I owned a 98Custom for almost a year and loved every minute i had one. Reason i sold it is because i wanted to get into speedball and maybe do some tourney's and it would cost to much money to up a 98C to compete with other mid-high ends guns on the market. I was just pointing out that every post i see you write says "A-5ers rule" and what not so i just figured you where very happy to own your A-5. Wasnt trying to flame

Hey there...
Usually you should see about 700-800 shots from a 20oz fill...depending if its filled correctly and how high your velocity is set. Are you playing on a organized field or playing outlaw?
Because if your not playing with your velocity set correctly below the 300 mark then it will use an insane amount of air.
If you need more help on the A5 specifically check out the guys on the A5OG boards... (A-5 Owners Group) do a search for it on like Yahoo or something and you should find it. Cant really post other sites on this forum..

you could try turning your velocity down... just because the limit is 300fps doesnt mean you have to shoot that fast. with the lower velocity you will have to be more tactical and close to who you are shooting at instead of sitting in the back lobbing paintballs untill you hit something. im not accusing you of being a coward or one of those sniper noobs, and if you are already aggressive and bunker everyone, you won't even notice the lower fps because you are so close; but there are a few skills in paintball you cant learn when 150 ft away from the other person.

You’re theory on loaders is flawed and full of newbie propaganda.
The tippmann force feed loader is capped off at 15 bps. A very very far cry from a Halo B or Reloader B. It might be force feed, but to tell you the truth, it is the slowest force feed on the market today. The reason the A-5 can use it and get away with it, is cause it wasn’t designed to be used at high speeds like a Timmy or Angel.
Though you can get a high ROF burst with an A-5, it still isn’t designed for the speeds which you seem to be claiming it can pull. Tippmanns are the lower end of the marker chain, and they are very good at what they do. They can not hold a candle to higher ends though.
Another thing is the ugliness and moronic placement of the hopper. You even stated yourself, bad for left handed guys. It’s big, it’s ugly, and it makes you a bigger target for games that count gun/hopper hits.
I love tippmanns, but they have their downfalls, and they have their propaganda like every other company. Just be careful what you say about the marker’s abilities

yeah i play with my friends at a homade field it is only about 150 long so we turn down our velocity so we will not hurt each other. i am the rusher and my friend likes being a sniper. i have a diff interpretation of a sniper in paintball i think they are someone who can shoot at long distances but still does his share of rushing.
my friend thinks they are someone who stays hunkered down in the same bunker the entire game, he has a 14 inch barrel.
we dont have a chronograph so we go by the sound it makes when it his an object(crappy way of doing it huh?)
and igotshot, dont hate appreciate lets all be friendies
alright i lashed out ONCE thats it
SMILEY SMILEY SMILEY
i will not start anything up anymore (TODAY)

if you dont have a chrono, stand about 50 feet away from something large, like a fence or house or something. you can tell ABOUT how fast its going if youve played at a field and were shooting at a reasonable velocity over a real chrono. since youre playing in the back yard, it should be slower than that. the way to make everyone even is to stand at the same distance and shoot at the same target, and it should take about the same time between when you shoot and when a paintball hits the target. or you can also aim at the center or top fo something, and if it hits about 3 feet lower than where you were aiming, youre good to go. you can even use some combination of both. i think those methods are better than the sound it makes when it hits something if you dont have a real chrono.

im not stupid headly i respect your skills and of course i would never diss a moderater
Paint thingy guy whatever i unterstand what u are talking about we actually stand ten feet away from a oil barrel and shoot it. if it sounds like it hurts like crap we turn it down then we shoot as far as it will go to see what the range is

Just curious, do you know what temperature it was when you were playing?
I got less than 150 shots out of a 12 Oz. Co2 a couple weeks ago, but it was like 20F - 25F out, so I can understand that. I've gotten more than 500 inside shooting (bout 65F - 70F) with the same tank.

I'm sorry, but the cyclone feed is holding your mighty A5 back a lot. The cyclone feed basicly caps your marker at 13.6bps. It yccles at (direct quote form tippmann) "800 rounds per minute".
It wouldnt' look crappy if you had a timmy with a gravity feed hopper. You'd just either shoot slowly, or not play at all until you saved up for an egg or halo.
I bought my mag with a single trigger, and just abou stock everythign else. Right now for example, I'm still using a Reloader 1 on my mag, and I've tested it to be able to push 20bps. Empire Relaoders can only shoot 15bps.
I'd rather buy a sick marker, show it off to friends adn learn how to maintian it adn see how it works, and in a month save up money for a HaloB or reloader, and then have a sick gun and hopper. ALl that instead of having a marker capped at 13.6bps for twice the price of an empire relaoder.
