Are the threads the same?
I was wondering if the barrel threads are the same for the Tippman 98 Custom, and the Tippman Model 98? Thanks

yes as long as your model 98 isn't more than two years old because Tippmann changed their barrels threads.

Old Model 98 if those are "gills" on the front half and not just the light playing tricks on us all.

the only diffrence between the 98 and the 98c is the 98c is predrilled with holes to accept all the mods it can have.. while the regular 98 is not..

98 Customs prior to serial number 495,500-ish use the Model 98 threads.

I heard somwhere that if you have one of the older ones, Tippmann will send you a barrel thread adapter so you can use the new barrels, but im not 100% sure this is true.

dont need an adaptor. If the barrels are incompatable loosen the to front bolts screw in the barrel and re-tighten the bolts.
