It has been accomlishsed by Tippmann Techies and others long ago...of course they wont provide ANY info on this, however, in order to protect their partners and revenues. (i have spoken to a former Tippmann engineer...who now works for a competitor : )
Again, there are those who have accomplished a FULL auto mod using near exact techniques, but have found a way to lower the cycle speed - if they would only share their knowledge...
This past weekend, i saw this an A-5 and a 98 custom. The 98 custom was configured to shoot at 22bps...yes it was timed...and 21.5 bps was the average of 5 trials.
The 98c is using a Cyclone with a QEV to increase the cycle rate...also, 98 customs have a faster cycle rate on the cyclone than the A-5's (due to the increased velocity of the back pressure from the cycling of the air, and shorter displacement required on the 98's over the a-5's)
The fellow with the 98c is an engineer himself, and is only giving me small clues...at the moment. According to him, the solution is so simple, you would look right over it.
His setup: Full Auto Mod 98c, empire twister barrel, Cyclone with QEV, polished internals, 68/3000 hpa.
and this thing is MEAN...I completely misjudged his gun's capabilities...when he just OPENED PAINT RAIN on me...with a 98c...and he was shooting semi auto until he opened up on me.
good luck to everyone putting their heads into getting this "technology" harnessed correctly : )

Move the end cap out a notch for less spring tension?
Larger or softer bumper?
...spring guide changes?
There's not much in that area to fool with, so there's my guess.

Well there are two ways I have figured out, the one I'm talking about is really all about using some strong earth magnets.

hrmm
they are not that expencive either.
2 repelling could replace the drive spring
also a 3rd smaller one could be used as a kind of brake so that you could adjust the rate of fire.
looks like I am going to have to stop by radio shack soon and try this

actually...
earth magnets would not provide as a good replacement for a spring...
the force of a magentic field is not linear such as is the force of a spring.
the force a spring provides is a resultant of the Spring Force Constant X Displacement from equilibrium.
the electro. mag. equation for magentic repulsion is NOT that simple...unfortunately...
magnets will not be able to provide a nice, smooth, linear increase in and decrease in resistive force such as a spring will, that means, as the sear is tripped and the striker / hammer drivers forward, the magnets will provide less force as the distance of the striker and valve decreases...whereas a spring will provide more force than the magnet as distance decreases...
wow!

yes you will with a low pressure kit the valve opens easier and will not be stuck at 240fps . i used a low pressure kit 4 weeks ago with no2 and no reg i had to screw in the volicity bolt down the whole way and i was using my ebolt so it should work
