Okay, so can you (mortis) reply on the post explaining (with pics) how to do the mod and replace the springs so that you're getting about 16 bps?

Thanx.

P.S. I have A.C.T. on my 98 Pro. Will this work?

Update:
I got Spring kit over at my shop for about $5 on Friday and messed with them some on sat. Even though my Valve is damaged (Always double check the mill set up and don't mill INTO the treads) so it leaks like crazy.

But for the short burst that I was able to do I found that a stiffer spring increases the rate of fire while a softer spring decreased it.

I also Think that I may be getting a Pulse loader for for X-Mass so I might have this thing spraying by the end of January. If not I will just do A slight mod to my egg.

If i coudl do this to my tippy 98C without making on parts on the mill or lade, ide do it. But I just dont ahve the tools to do so. Is this possible to do with just the springs and a rocket cock system? or do i have to actually mill parts? I may be better off getting a R/t and doing the little spring mod in the piston like you have

A little of row B and a little of Column 3.
Mostly I see some thing and think how can I Improve it or take the concept and make it work for some thing else.

The Fullauto mod was Inspired by the Tippmann FA,

Quick return RT was inspired by the Lucky Stage 1 Bolt and The clicky pen mod

High Flow was from a problem in Fluid dynamics class (Here's the simple explanation Larger passages allow the same amount of gas/liquid to move at a lower pressure.)

The Custom Power tube was cause I was tired of breaking the plastic one.

Oh No. Some one has gone an revived this thread. Looks like I am going to have to dig my 98 out and finish this.

A few changes have been made to my 98 sense I last touched on this MOD.
1. installation of a Rear Velocity Adjuster
2. Macro line on the ASA
3. I still have not painted it yet and still have some of the old paint on it.

I will try to get some new vids and picts up after this Saturday

I bet with some modding/milling someone could make a switch somehow that would allow you to switch between F/A and semi-auto. That would be awesome, assuming you wouldn't have to take apart the marker every time you wanted to switch.

I just did this, and it works!!! I think I'm going to buy a Qloader and HPA just to have it feed paint. Also, I've noticed an increase in both sound output and kick from the gun. Is there any way to lower these?

Kick can be solved afew ways.

1. Get a reg and lower the operating pressure by installing a reg. (My 98 will work down to 300 PSI)
2. Get a lighter drive spring (Less force moving the hammer and needed to recock it)
3. Reduce the mass of the hammer.(Force = Mass * Velocity)

The spring will also afect the rate of fire. Harder springs will cause a Higher right of fire and will need a higher pressure to recock the gun. Lighter springs will Slow down the rate of fire and lower the pressure need to operate the gun.

The down side of messing with the drivespring and presure is that some times it is a pain to crono the gun.

Get things set in this order.

Choose and install spring/ set tention
Set Reg to the right pressure for that spring
Use the Stock Velocity adjuster to dial in on 280fps (or what ever your feild limit is)

Hey guys, I think I've found an improvement in this mod which will bring us closer to having a select fire mechanism for the 98c, so we can switch between full-auto and semi-auto without taking apart the marker. I've done a little mod where all you need to do is take out the pin that the sear rests on to switch between full-auto and semi-auto. I made a video about it, but it's in 3 parts because simple file joiner isn't working correctly. Please watch each video one after the other. Sorry about the file sizes, the camera somehow turned 3 minutes of video into 100mb. Regardless, here's the videos:

EDIT: Here's the DL Link: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting

What I think would make this idea work would be to somehow mill a switch like the one for the safety, where if you push it in one way, the pin gets pushed in to the slot, resulting in semi auto, and if you push it in the other way, the pin gets pushed out, resulting in full-auto.

What do you guys think?

Okay, I think I can create the fire mode selector by milling a hole through one half of the socket of where the pin that the sear rests on. Then I'd use a nail in place of the pin. When I put the nail in, I get semi auto, and when I take it out, I get full auto. Since the nail is pointed it will be able to fit in. I have youtube links btw:
