Flatline on A-5.....Wow!
Installed the flatline on my A-5 (also response trigger) and what difference. I was shooting people from distances where I could watch their balls roll at my feet. I have read mixed review on here about the Flatline but all I can say is that it works unbelievably. I have the gun shooting at 275 fps. I had more kills than the past 4 nights combined with this thing. What a confidence builder!

Meh, i also have a friend who is good at hitting hard stuff (goggles, guns, etc) and he does well with a flatline, i just dont like the way they shoot but if you like it then all the power to ya.

After playing with it I can't imagine anyone not liking it but I guess it's all just an opinion. It shoots great from all angles that I can see whether close or far away.

I am actually able to dodge most of the balls fired from a flatline at me, even at 20 yards. I know i have been bounced a ton by flatlines also.

How'd that "dodging" go last time you were out playing aginst a flatline again???? And don't use he excuse he was only 5 feet away, your ego should have sensed that and shot him..... lol.

That doesn't make sense to me. If I'm shooting at 280 bps what difference does it make what barrel it is from from a standpoint of being able to "dodge" a ball? Unless you have measured the rate of speed 20 yards from the tip of the barrel and compared to other barrels I don't think I could be convinced the flatline is slower. Also, as far as bouncing goes, doesn't that have more to do with the paint quality?

The flatline will be 280 out of the gun, but it will also travel slightly further because of the spin on the ball... The extra distance that the ball travels it is going to be alot slower then a typical shot is because it has used up most of it's inital energy in traveling the long distance.
SO it goes slower once it travels awhile.... at the same time you can think of it as if the other shot would already be on the ground or at your feet.
But yes, the ball does move slower, allowing volkers slow reflexes enough time to move out of the way in every 1 out of 100 shots.

I'm not trying to be argumentative but I would like to see some test results on that. From what I can gather, the ball travels further than normal due to backspin; not velocity. Its not making up for lack of velocity with spin. It wouldn't make sense if it did. I would bet that if you took two barrels, one a flatline and any other and set the velocity both to 280 feet per second and then chronographed the ball at 20 yards from the tip of the barrel they would be almost exactly the same. Now with that said, I do understand that at extreme distances the ball may not be moving as fast but like you already said, the other barrel's ball is already on the ground. I would also like to test Volkers theory and have him stand 20 yards from us and we can test his cat like reflexes.

I'd pay to watch that experiment
flatline balls do flat more though due to said backspin..but at 20 yards I agree, the difference is insignificant.

Exactly, the flatline adjusts the trajectory, not the velocity.
