Suggestions on Red Dot for A-5

I'm new to paintball and have an A-5 on the way. I have a problem where I can't close my left eye and aim with my right, so I thought a red dot would be a good idea. The problem is there's a ton of them to choose from. I know the hopper positioning can be an issue. Can someone give me a couple of suggestions on what to use? Thanks.

Ok, the hopper on an A-5 won't affect the red-dot. I've got a red-dot on mine.

Here is the thing. This is paintball, you don't need anything too expensive, just something that will work for what you are looking for. There are plenty of 30-40$ red dots that are very good. The SWATFORCE Red Dots at tacticalmarkers.com are pretty good. I've got one of those.

Now about aiming:
-Aim with both eyes open. If you are right eye dominant (which you are if you are closing your left eye) the closing of the eye doesn't really do anything to change your vision. Keep your left eye open. This allows you to still have peripheral vision whilst aiming at your target. That way, once you engage your target, you have quicker acquisition of another one.
-The only time you should be closing an eye to aim is if you are taking a slow, steady shot where you are controlling your breathing. If you have that much time to aim, then go ahead and close your eye if you want.

You won't get many of those opportunities in paintball, since it's mostly reaction shooting.
Keep your eyes open
See more targets
Take down more targets
Profit

Check out the SWATFORCE red dots. Good red dots for not too much money.

Do you have a stock coming too? If you do then you are going to want to get an offset rail to mount the red dot on. That's what I did with mine. Also if you look through the red dot with both eyes open the dot will actually appear as if it is in both eyes. Take some practice shots and you will see what I mean.

I haven't decided what to do about the stock. I want to try it without first. I'll give those red dots a look. Thanks

If you just use the tank then you shouldn't have a problem with lining you head up. If you use a stock then you will need the offset rail.

I checked their site and it doesn't seem like they sell it anymore. Do you have a link?

Thanks.

Why do you need an offset rail if you get a stock?

Because the width of the mask will prevent you (in many cases) from seeing down the sight. The stock gets in your way.

With an offset rail, when you bring the gun up, you don't have to move your head. The sight lines up with your eye.

Ah ok. I also just got an A5, bought a scope for it but I need a riser mount so it'll fit with the iron sights. But, I'll consider an offset rail. Thanks
