Arrow A-5 On Ice...

Hey
I have an A-5, Stock except for Java expansion chamber (I am using CO2, and no, i am not going to compressed air), and my upcoming paintball game is going to be cold, like something around 15 degrees give or take with snow. I haven't played in this cold since i got it and would like to call on any ideas (like where to place hand warmer packs, will it help, ect.) on how to make it not malfunction, or worse, me damage it, in this cold weather.

if you have a bag covering your CO2, put your hand warmers in there. Pack around your CO2 with hand warmers and insulation to keep the warm in

We had a group bring Monster Balls to a game here earlier this fall. None broke, so the performance will probably be constant in the cold. :rollin

I'd shoot less if possible to try to keep the tank from getting even more colder. You can try the handwarmers, some people say it works ok. Putting them on the expansion also can't hurt anything...aside from the purchase price of the warmers.

They need to be exposed to air also, so let them breathe a little or they'll stop heating. Or have I forgotten how they work.

You don't need to switch. But a sock or something around the co2 tanks and slip a couple hand warmers under the sock. Only certain types of hand warmers need air to work well. The ones that are "foot warmers" usually don't require as much air so they should work fine. You could also put one on the expansion chamber, that way it heats the chamber and your hand a little.

Otherwise thats about all you can do. Make sure you have your gun oiled so you don't damage any frozen O-rings.

I doubt the handwarmers will help very much, but if they are to be placed somewhere, it should be around the tank... You probably will heat the ex. chamber with your hand... If you switched to comp. air, you will have much better consistency both in the cold and warm weather...
