Tippmann 98 SMG Conversion

I want to convert my Tippmann 98 into an SMG.
I am tired of my Flatline. Even if I could get it working exactly how I want it, it's too long and bulky in conjunction with my CAR stock. I'm not saying this because I want advice on my flatline barrel, I'm saying this because I want a shorter barrel for covert type assaults. Ducking and covering is difficult - almost impossible - with a marker that's 3 feet long when fully extended. Also, the flatline sacrifices velocity for extra range - I dare not say accuracy as well because before the ball reaches it's target it tends to curve off at the last minute. The flatline can't be adjusted like an Apex, so I've grown tired of using it and want something that's shorter and easier to maneuver with. Hence, the SMG.
I've come across the RAP4 3" SMG barrel at multiple online stores, and was wondering if anyone has used it and how it fares. I'm also wondering if there are any barrels shorter than the stock barrel (8 1/2") that comes with the Tippmann 98. I can't seem to find any other than that 3" barrel. I'm not looking for accuracy or range by switching out from a sniper to a close quarter set up. I want a marker that's compact like a pistol but still has enough ammo and air to make it through entire games, and not as a sidearm. As long as I'm effective within 100 feet, I'll be happy.
So my questions are this:
- What barrels are out there that are shorter than the stock barrel of a 98?
- What advice does anyone have for me in terms of converting my marker into an SMG? Please be as technical as possible.
- Would any accessories, such as a scope or response trigger help?
Thank you for reading and replying to my post.
