Tippmann 98 Custom problem - have to re-cock every shot

Hello! I am relatively new to paintball, and I recently purchased a Tippmann 98 Custom marker with a few modifications on ebay. The first couple of times I took it out everything went perfectly, but today, when I went to test it, I am having to recock the gun with every shot I take. It used to be semi-automatic and I could get about 5-6 bps with it. I tested it with both a freshly filled 20oz CO2 tank and a freshly filled 3000psi compressed air tank. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and is there an easy fix? Thanks!

What kinds of mods does the marker have? There might be a number of problems, from obstructed macro lines, lack of lubrication, shut off asa, problems with regulators it might have etc.. but first you probably should lubricate and try again.

Just drop some lube down the hole where you screw your asa into then dry fire your marker a couple times.

Replace the mainspring it might just be too weak to recock the marker.

A not so common problem to look at is the power tube. I have seen it to where cracks and doesn't keep the pressure up for the striker to blow back
