Low Velocity on Tippy 98 custom
Hi i have a used tippy 98c i bought off a guy on craigslist. Whenever i shoot it it wont go above 240 fps (I used different tanks, and moved the velocity screw). I polished and cleaned the gun. Im thinking about changing the o-rings lubricating the gun and putting in a new drive spring.

lube it. you might not need a new drive spring if you stretch it (google it)

stretching them never really works though because they will just go back to the length they were before you stretched them
clean it, lube it, if that doesnt work rebuild it and put in a new spring

I'm having a serious FPS problem on my 98 too. The FPS dropped out to about 155. I turned the velocity screw as far as it would go and it did nothing. I broke the gun down, oiled it, replaced the spring with a 3skull high velocity and still no change. What else could it be? Bad o-ring? Nothing inside looks like it broken or worn.

Is your air source still putting out the proper pressure? maybe you switched tanks?

Yes I unscrewed the velocity screw as far as it would go without falling out. And I did change tanks. I bought a guerilla air 68ci 3000. What could be going on with the tank that would cause that kind if a drop? It's brand new.
