i like to play the field. I find a gun I like for a while then try something new. normally end up making money off of them because I get them upped. The nyx I had all through the winter season and a little into spring and the alias was spring and I sold it for the bike instead.

I'm big into milsim, and I hate the Tippmann "milsim" guns.. To someone who migh have never seen a real MP5 or M4, or who can't notice the differences, it looks pretty ballsy, but to me, the .68 barrel sticking out the shroud without the front sight and teh reciever that looks like a MP5 PDW... Jus tlooks like a freak.
Now, if someone made an MP5 PDW, I think it could work on an A5, because the little handgrip looks like the forward grip on an MP5 PDW.

And if you want to shoot real looking rifles join the military and stop pretending. oh wait mil sim people are pansies.

I agree, but in a more non-offensive way. I think shrouds and M4A1 replicas with hoppers look kinda odd. If you guys are REALLY into milsim, check out RAP4's. www.rap4.com. And milsim is not for pansies. Its for military enthusiasts like myself who live in a (gay) state that has a 21+ Firearms license. I can't legally own or shoot one. Thats why people like myself go to NewHampshire and Vermont a lot.. Heh.
Anyways, screw you. Learn to pull the rod out of your ass once in a while and calmly express yourself instead of getting your panties in a knot.
EDIT: And yes, Marine Corps in two years for me.

I have a 98 custom with flatline, and I put a custom "magazine" over the front handgrip, because I really didn't like the front grip. It's not even used when you have a flatline anyway (at least, most people don't). I also put a custom stock on it, makes it look pretty cool. I dunno If I'd classify it as "Milsim", because it really looks nothing like any REAL gun out there. That wasn't why I modded it. I just didn't like that front grip, and I wanted a stock for more steady shots with my flatline.

Speedballers always give stock-using woodsballers a hard time. I love my stock for the woods. ITs much easier to run and shoot, whether it be peeling out or chrging a bunker, it helps keep it more steady.

Yeah, i watched the video on the site for the m4ish gun, The ejecting shells are nuts. Are they actually good guns, performance wise?

thats because "us speedballers(well me at least" dont need a stock, reason being, i dont have a humgo drop, i used a unimount, and was able to place my 68/45 tank into my armpit, and the tank cover stabilized it, now my tank serves a double purpose, as a tank, and in a sort of way a "stock" and the setup is very comfortable

speedball and woodball are 2 different games...I for one started as a hard core woodballer...and now moved to speedball.
The main differences is woodball is ALOT slower passed....so you get a gun that is more comforable...vs. smaller and compact. There arnt many times in woodball when u get pinned behind a small bunker while 3 guys are shooting at you....its more like lil skirmishes. While in speedball...you see everything, so the ONLY thing between u and the other team is a blow up bunker...not 20 branches and dense leaves. Speedballers need the smaller guns...to run and tuck behind bunkers.
woodball and speedball is totally different...I for one chose speedball because it is more action packed and ALOT faster....its just you...the other team and bunkers...I actually think woodball takes the fun out of apintball...cuz u got the over hanging leaves and branches...so someone 30 feet away cannot be hit. Where in speedball...if you see them...you can hit them.
its 2 different games and you use 2 different markers. But 1 thing IS for certain....speedball is more hardcore and alot faster then woodball

ram guns aren't very good. the smaller ball 40 or 43 caliber don't fly as well and need a higher speed to shoot well. they will hurt about the same cranked up as a 68 ball at 300. If you like the design of the ram guns why wouldn't you like ats guns. they are clip fed don't have to deal with casings and you can use a hopper and cheaper paint if you want.

Paintball used by military
I'd like to clear up a little discusion here, I'm a member of 2-200th ADA at White Sands NM, and the Army does use Paintball for training. Works better than miles, becasue it teaches you to seek good cover that will stop a bullet, or paintball. The guns like the armotech are great for training the military that will be using the M-16 sytems. Its nice to be able to take my marker out to training and out to the PB feild.

I like milsim because I was a noob once, but listen to everyone above me, it's not practical and just wastes money. I wouldn't put that much into an a5, get things that are transferable from gun to gun: tank, hopper (can you only use that bulky thing?), and some cool apparel.

Pretty nasty group. Seems to me that we first have to just accept the fact the speedball and woodsball (scenario play) are two very different games. But, both stem from woodsball in the early 80's (or maybe late 70's) which were played typically using military camo. Besides that, the notion of capture the flag which most these games were is still very much a derivative of a simple military operation.
As far as Milsim being stupid or bad for the game. Come on. Get real. It is plain and simple exciting and fun. It's a game. Yes, it is a fantasy that touched on real military action, but that is the fun of it. It allows adults to pretend they are in war. This is something that mankind has done throughout the ages and is very much programmed in our brains--it is part of our survival instinct from way back when we were hunters and gatherers. To pretend that speedball is something on a higher plain because it doesn't emulate warfare is sheer niavete or silly. It uses guns. You shoot propellants at other people. You try to eliminate them. How is that different from any other warfare simulation? Oh, it is less about getting dressed up and taking it to the next level, but at the heart of it is a symbolic replacement for warfare. But, that's ok. It isn't real and that is the whole point. I understand how it may on the surface present a "nicer, friendlier" picture to the critics, but who cares.
The point is that it is ok to live the fantasy. It isn't disrespectful to those who have had to serve for real, it does not breed militia loving fanatics, and it isn't anything to be embarassed about. It is simply put a fun way to pretend. Just liking playing 'army' as a boy. Listen, most sport for that matter comes from emulating military warfare. Modern football (offense, defense, blitz, etc) is a form of warfare. Wresteling, fencing, etc are all examples.
Now, there will always be wack jobs who can't separate reality from fantasy, and admittedly you will see more of them in scenario play, but they have issue regadless. The point is they are both fun, but to me scenario play has a more interesting story line, elements of surprise, stalking and still lets the inner child come out and play.
Cheers.

Gunmick has said the most intelligent thing of all the posts on this thread. You guys forget its all a game in the end. and It IS based on real military action. Speedball uses strategies the same as woodsball. Speedball is typically faster and more adrenaline packed because of the close quarters and minimal cover. Woodsball can be just as adrenaline rush when you shrink the field. If you've ever been to SkirmishUSA in PA hit up the Airplane field...its pretty small and the action heats up from the opening whistle.
Regardless speedballers will always talk mess about woodsballers and vice versa but in the end we all play the same game using almost the same tactics and shoot the same paint..... for what..for fun.
true= some oddball milsim fanatics tarnish the image of paintball. but these guys are few. you know who really tarnishes paintball...? The morons who think my way of playing paintball (speed or woods) is better than theirs......let me bash/flame those who don't agree, even though we play essentially the same game.........tell me that doesn't separate us from within.
