Rocket Cock
I've been looking in to getting a Rocket Cock for my 98c, and heard that it quiets the gun down quite a bit. I've also heard that it's not true. I see a lot of people on this board have them, so I was hoping to get some feedback from someone that uses one. Thanks in advance.

I have liked both of my Rocket Cocks. I had the original style with the only kinda good plastic, it cracked when I had it overtightened in the cold weather, all my fault. I bought another, the more refined version before the Rocket Cock 2. It is made of a better polymer, definitely heavier and more solid than the first, it does it job extremely well, and is cheap, IMO a fine second or even first upgrade.
As for gun quieting, I don't think it makes a HUGE difference, maybe some but not much. You've got a Tippmann you're pretty much doomed to have a loud marker forever anyway.
If you get one you will not be disappointed.

I was going to buy one, until I found out it was $30...just for a piece of plastic that fits over the cock slot. I hear it's not a bad piece though.

Lol, I might end up just getting one off ebay, since my ONLY local pro shop is VERY expensive.

ur not supposed to oil the gun jsut by simply putting oil in the hole...that wont even oil the hole hammer....u gotta take the hole gun apart..oil the HOLE hammer, oil the front bolt...and the connection linkage

Umm, you only need to remove two screws to get the Rocket Cock off and gain access to the cocking slot.
Anywho, you should be stripping the whole gun down after everyday and oiling as Flatliner suggested...don't any of you guys ever read the manual?

cleaning question
Just a quick question:
What type of oil do you use or form to clean your gun, or to get it oiled up?
People i play with use all sorts of random stuff, I have not really looked around for a certain form. What is the best oil out there for a 98c or any other kinda gun?

The guys at your proshop are proably going from experience with rental 98C's and although it probably worked for them the best way to keep your marker in top shape is to oil both bolts, the linkage arm, and put a few drops in the ASA(and dry fire).
Go back and reread pages 13 and 14 of your manual for homework.
