Regulators and X chambers
I'm thinking of getting a Custom 98 sometime and I was just curious about a couple things. I understand what regulators and expansion chambers do and all that good stuff, but I'm not sure how they fit onto the gun in some cases. I was looking at the Inline Expansion Chamber that comes with a vert adapter. If I were to get that, would I be able to put a regulator on the gun also? In general they look like they go in the same place, so it always confuses me. And also, if you're not running comp air/nitro, do regulators still help? Thanks

You will need the verticle adapter to put an inline reg or expansion chamber on your marker. Most HPA tanks ship with a reg already on them. Since expansion chambers are silly with HPA and it never hurts to have a secondary reg, just go ahead and get a reg instead of an expansion chamber if you are thinking about going HPA later.
Regulators own expansion chambers. They allow the gas time to expand like an expansion chamber and they also make sure that your marker is getting consistent pressure supplied to it.
PS: inline regs and expansion chambers have the same threads as tanks! All are interchangable.

I've heard that people have problems sometimes with C02 and regulators, like they freeze over or something. If I was sticking with C02 would it be stupid to have both? And I'm just curious, where does the reg mount if you have an X-Chamber? And can anybody reccommend a decent regulator that won't destroy my bank account?
I hate being such a rookie at this. Stupid stupid questions.

I dont know much about regs sticking (maybe cheap ones?). I like the Bob Long Torpedo for a low cost reg. If you are not shy about quality, go with the Palmers stabilizer. Another good choice is the WGP Ergo which works good on CO2 and HPA. It's not stupid to have both as long as you know that you will only be able to use one at a time. If you have an Ex chamber, you cannot mount a reg.
PS: The only stupid question is one you dont ask.

^^^ Yes. Both work great. The reg can be moved to HPA later and the xchamber is pointless w/ HPA. Plus, a good reg will have enough volume inside it to act like an xchamber.

alright, so it would be better to go with a reg if you had co2 incase you were to upgrade to hpa?

If one wanted to run HPA on a tippmann, would one need to get the Low Pressure System? If not, what's the point of the system at all?

You don't need the low pressure system. I have heard many people say that it is a waste of money. The reg that most bottles come with are pre set for 750-850 PSI which is what your stock internals work best on. So use the money on a quality tank with a good reg on it.
You can also but most bottles with a 350 PSI reg, but once again, I dont see the point to the low pressure kit.

ya..dont get LPK.....get a reg now...and if u get HPA in the future...get a high preassure tank.
If you end up getting a higher end gun...they operate at low preassure....but its all good, cuz lower end guns perform better with hihg preassure tanks (the gun has a inline reg to tone down the preassure anyways) because when u start firing in long strings, the gun will charge back up faster cuz u got the hihger preassure tank, however if you had the lower preassure, you would end up starving your gun

Does a remote line act basically the same as an xchamber?? I believe I heard somewhere that they do. Could be a bunch of bull - I wouldn't know...... Could you put a reg on a remote line?? Would that profit anything??
Ps. I feel silly asking 'stupid' questions too................

if u already have hpa a reg wont give u noticable benefits but if u plan on using co2 for a long time go with the torpedo or an evil detonator
