Exclamation Heads up!!

Things to watch out for when taking apart or putting new stuff on you tippmann 98 custom

If you are ever taking apart your tippmann there is a lot of little parts that can pop out. Like:

- The Ball Detent
- Trigger Spring
- Screws
- Quick Release Wire
- Trigger Pins

Why you are opening your gun you can loose the screws very easily. A simple way to keep every thing together is using a shoebox top. Put all your screw and accessories in a show box top. It will help you from having to search and hunt for screw that could fall of the table! You also want to have your booklet to your gun on you incase you cant find where something goes. If you have screw you might want to label them so you no what one goes where.
If you are putting in new parts make sure they fit properly. Don’t break anything to make it fit.

More tips soon!!
- Jack

Good post! Always like seeing posts like this. Extremely helpful but typically never thought of. Good job, hope to see more like this in the future.

Yeah, that ball detent's pretty annoying. Anyone else have problems putting the shells back together if the asa isn't in just right?
I wish they'd make it a little easier to field strip.

you dont need to label the screws, all of them are the same size save for the front grip one. i just lay out a white towel on the ground when messing with my guns, very easy to find stuff if something unexpected pops out

I put a bit of red loctite on the right hand reciever side of my ASA nuts, that helps a bit.

the first tiem i took mine apart everything shot out and i was so worried haha, now those guns are so simple its funny to think how much i worried at first.

EDIT: I do as chromekilla said, lay everything on a white rag whenever I work on a gun, it seems to make it easier to keep track of everything. I usually put all the screws in a pile then all the little pieces and whatnot.

I use a little plastic tupperware tub to keep parts in. I keep another with spare parts in it. (like you need spare parts for a tippmann!)
