problem with the valve....
i was using a 98 custom, and it was working perfectly fine. then one day, all of a sudden, it quit. it shoots maybe 5 good shots, then stops. It will either lob balls at about 100fps or just not even recock.
i've stripped it down and put it back together about 10 times, tried it with a lot of oil, tried it without much oil, and tried it without any oil on the moving parts. the only thing i can think it might even be is the valve. any ideas?

Disassemble your entire marker and clean it. Then oil it with non-3-in-1 oil. I can only think of two things that would cause that- leak or dirt. Also, polish your internals- it will help with friction, which will help anyway and might help with this problem.
Try the new Tippmann FAQ thing that Headley just posted. That will probably get you are more technical (and probably more accurate) answer.

Wait wait wait… you did not just recommend what I think you did, did you? 3 in 1 oil is horrible to use on your marker. It WILL gum it up. Especially if it sits for any amount of time. It turns into a thick goo that can only be described as something like Cosmoline. Stick to using typical gun oil or spray on Teflon lube.
Well, time to start up the FAQ section! We have a legit question to kick it off. Courtney, if that’s your REAL name, lol, check out the new FAQ thread and PM one or all of them on there. They will be glad to help you out!

Thanks again.

Notice the clever use of "non." I'd never tell someone to oil their marker up (even these "invicible" Tippies) with 3-in-1 oil.
Did the lovely lady happen to have used non-gun/pneumatic oil all those times stated? If so, she's gonna need to get those pretty hands dirty and clean that gun.
BTW the girl that just dumped me was named Britney... is there a connection?
