The part of the trigger that hits the microswitch is the same in both the regular and the double trigger. You can interchange both triggers with the egrip on the A5 and the ebolt on the 98C. This is also the same for mechanical tippys.

exactly what are the differences between a custom 98 and a regular 98? and would I be able to attach a Lapco Bigshot barrel to a regular one?

m98 the 'father' of the 98c.
First off the outside, the gills on the other side of the elbow. The trigger guard on the model 98 to upgrade to a double trigger you needed to saw off the guard, on the 98c it was easier. On the back the hole on the 98c is not on the m98. To add a r/t, 98c easy but on the m98 it needed to be retro fitted. The site rail is fully adjusable. On the inside the tigger setup up is dif the power tube. Thats all I believe thats different

the 98c is more customizable.....you can drop in upgrades ALOT easier. the normal 98 has to be modified for certain upgrades....such as the RT...the 98c already has a place to lay it in...however the normal 98 doesnt.
the 98c is the same gun as the model 98...except it is ready for more upgrades....if that makes any sense lol

Hey, I just wanted to first say that this forum is pretty sweet, very informative! On to my question...
I just ordered a 98 Custom, and got a lot of ups right away. One of them is the expansion chamber. Is it NECESSARY to have the vertical kit for the expansion chamber to work? Another question, I also ordered the metal flatline shroud because I heard it helps to stablize the flatline much more than the plastic one that it comes with, what is your guys' opinion on it? Lemme know!

When you tighten down the adaptor bolt on the flatline the barrel is not going to move after that. The metal shroud therefore is not going to stabilize it any more than the plastic one. The only thing the metal shroud is going to do is make your tippy heavier.

Well, that's kind of a bummer... Oh well, I think it looks a little better than the other one anyway. I heard that it can be a pain in the but to get the flatline nice and straight, is this true or not?

Cool. lol, sorry, one more question i thought of...
Is it harder to clean the flatline than regular barrels because of the fact that it has to be so straight? or is getting it straight like a one time dealio when you first put the barrel on?

Cleaning the flatline is simple. Take a PULL THRU squeegee, that has a fuzzy thing on the end and drop down the elbow, cock it and feed the non fuzzy end into the chamber and pull it out of the other end of the barrel and presto youre cleaner than Mother Teresa's diary. Dont worry about the gun going off with your finger in the chamber because your finger will stop the bolt before it hits the striker pin.

hey umm....this may seem like kind of a stupid question but im just wondering if anyone could tell me(or link to a site) if there is anyway to take out the R/T easily out of a 98c because I just don't really want to waste that much air because all I have is a 12oz co2 tank. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread

To take the r/t out you will need the old powertube. The powertube you have has a hole in the side for the r/t hose. The r/t pretty much comes apart when you take the two receiver halves apart.

if u dont wanna waste air your better off screwing the RT screw in farther so it wont bounce...but only shoot one at a time.

listen to flatliner. if you just twist the adjustment screw for the R/T then it will get veryy little air and it dosen't require that much air to operate anyway

I recently got my 98 custom, and with it i got teh expansion chamber. There was a problem with teh actual chamber, because the hose that comes with it would not thread into it. My dad and I bought a tap (cuts threads) for it, and got the hose to finally thread, but now, it has a small leak in it. What should i do to stop the leak? We have already tried teflon tape, which helped a little, but there is still a small leak. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if teflon tape...loctite can be ur best friend...
actually i skip teflon tape and just got to loctite cuz its so danm good.
I guarentee you if you follow directions it will stop all leaks.
make sure tho to get the blue kind...that is the removable...if u get the red that is permenint.
Just put some loctite on the threads of the screw...then screw it in...dont gass it up for a good 24 hours (48 to be safe) and poof...no more leak!
