Red isn't necessarily permanent, it just takes a lot more torque to get off.

Well, we also used the loc tite, but there was still a small leak (heh, im sounding repetitive). Maybe we did it wrong. Today I picked up a small tube of silicone, which i play to bead right around where the hose and the chamber meet. I might add some more loc tite to be sure tho...
Is there anything wrong with the silicone? It is 100 percent silicone, and it's black, so it won't stand out too bad... And it is a very minimal leak, the only way i could tell was I saw bubbles when I put a drop of water on the threads to check.

Hers what I do when I am putting a gas line into my power tube. take the power tube out of the gun and wrap the threads of the gas line in just a little teflon, maybe just 2 or 3 wraps thenput it in the powertube hand tight and then put the Co2 on the ASA that way it will be slowly leaking out of the connection that I am making. Then I tighten it until the leak stops. Because if you tighten past that it will start to leak again using teflon. Then I take the Co2 off and then put the power tube and installed gas line and ASA assembly back into the gun.

i had some issues with this the other day. sometimes the teflon tape tends to not want to get down into the threads very well at first, i takes some work and practice but you can get it to work fine w/ just teflon.

Installing a carbine stock on a Tippmann 98
Someone asked in another thread so I am putting it in here as well.
This is how to install a carbine stock on a Tippmann 98. The first pic is what the stock looks like. The second pic is the rear insert that replaces the rear plug on the gun. The 3rd pic shows how to slide the stock onto the the rear insert once it is installed on the gun. The 4th pic shows how to install the allen screw (make sure the tightening collar is above the allen screw) the last pic shows the tightening collar that you use to snug the stock onto the gun.

was your very first gun the same as the tippy you lost your detent on? Different guns usually dont have interchangable parts. Tippy detents are about $3 from your local proshop.

A stock is something you want to try before you buy. its mainly preferance. I personally find stocks uncomfortable and i cant bring the gun up to my eyes which bugs me and i suck with em. My freind on the other hand loves his stock and is good with it

im havin trouble with my tippman, ive had it checked out and they think its something with the powertube maybe. the gun is inconsistant with the co2 pressure, like it fires one round perfectly and then on the next shot or two it practically lets the ball drop out of the barrel and barely gives off any co2 and uncocks itself

Check for leaks. Gas it up and listen very closely. I wouldnt be suprised if it is a problem with the power tube.

trigger problems
I have a A-5
I was trying to take my trigger guard off, to see how it felt, and the trigger and sear came apart and i can't get the sear to go in the right place.
I can't get the sear to go forward without using my finger. I'm pretty sure I have the spring on right for the sear, but it doesn't seem like it.
I actually lost the stock spring, so I'm just using this spring to show how it's not working right.
