How do you get an expansion chamber before the regulator? Most of the expansion chambers and regulators I have looked at for my 98c go in the same place.
Oh and another thing I saw when I was looking at a Palmer's stablizer. It claims that "Expansion chambers can't even hope to block liquid CO2 the way that this stabilizer can, thus virtually eliminating the chance of "hot-gun" penalties." Does that mean a x-chamber is not needed for this stablizer? Also, if you can't already tell, I am a noob so what does a "hot-gun" penalty mean?

A "hot gun" penalty would happen if you had a velocity spike in the middle of a game causing your marker to shoot "hot" or over the fields fps limit. Velocity spikes happen because ?? too much c02 is used in one shot ?? not sure if thats right but thats what ive heard. So a stabalizer would stabalize the co2 flow to stop that.

The only way you'll get an expansion chamber and a regulator on the 98 is to rig up some custom mount/airline plumbing for it.
And right, that Stabilizer doesn't have any problems with CO2. It has a mini expansion chamber inside it, and a pressure relief valve that will open if it takes in too much pressure from the CO2.
For consistancy in FPS, a rag is the way to go. An Expansion will help, but a reg will do a better job.
"Hot" shots are more common on CO2, as opposed to a HPA/Nitrogen system, because CO2's pressure is effected by temperature, and the temperature changes all day long depending on how much you shoot, how fast you shoot, if it was just filled, and other things.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. It just sounded from the original post that I needed an expansion chamber before the regulator to keep the liquid out and I was wondering how that was possible. But I plan on getting a palmers so i won't have to worry about it.
Thanks again.

No problem. That's what we're here for.
It is possible to have both...There's a picture of someone who did it floating around here. But like I said, it's just a bunch of air fittings and it isn't needed with A co2 tolerant reg like the Stabilizer or Torpedo.

I'll try.
Take a small screw driver and adjust the RT speed adjuster (the one on the grip, not the one near the valve). Turn it Inwards until it gets snug. Gas up and pull the trigger a few times. It should become hard or impossible to pull after a few shots. This shows that the RT is installed right and not leaking.
Now take the screw driver again and adjust the speed adjuster ******ds a turn or so. Try the trigger. If you can shoot normally again, try to find the 'sweetspot' where the RT will keep the gun firing. You'll have to adjust the speed setting and get used to holding the trigger in the right spot, but you'll get it.

Sort of.
Getting it to keep firing using the RT means that you have to pull with just the right force. If you pull to hard or have the setting too soft, the RT won't reset the trigger and you'll only get one shot. If you have it set too hard, well you won't be able to pull the trigger at all like during that test.
Getting it setup right is a matter of setting the screw in the right position and learning to hold the trigger in the sweetspot.

If it works sometimes it probably learning to control the trigger just right. Once you get it it'll be like riding a bike.

Removing the air line and putting in the cap that should have been in the kit is the only way to really turn it off. You could adjust it until there's not enough force to do anything, but to turn it off "field legal" wise you have to take that air line off.

Noob question: I've seen some pictures of the 98 custom with the flatline barrel, and I see that the barrel covers part of the top of the gun. This won't stop the possibility of mounting a sight on the gun right? Also, what should I get to mount a scope? It's a simple FOT I'm thinking of buying when I get the gun.

The flatline shroud comes with a sight rail on top. I dont know if its weaver or dovetail, but its the smaller of the two.

Pardon for interrupting, but, shouldn't this thread be a sticky? It just seems like that kind of material. If not then don't mind my comment.
