Recocking problem on Tippy
I'm pretty sure it has more to do with my co2, so I posted it here.
When I fire, the first couple shots are good. About 320 , 290, 270 fps. Then, they go way down to like 132, , and then the gun just doesnt recock.
This happens every time I fire. My co2 was full, I had just gotten it filled.
The marker is oiled, as is the ASA.
I suspect it has to do with the crappy on/off on my tank, not letting in enough co2?
Anyone know what's going on?

its not the asa I think. I highly doubt that. Possibly an o-ring is bad somewhere in the valve? Take apart your tippy, check for bad o-rings or just old ones and replaces them then tell us how its going.

The on/off valve CO2's do have more shootdown than normal pin-valve style tanks, however I used one for a while before I got my HPA and I never had problems with the gun not recocking.
Does the gun work with a normal pin valve tank? If it does that doesn't necessarily mean the tank is bad...you could have a slight problem somewhere inside the gun that only causes the problem you're having with reduced airflow. You should also try attaching your tank to another gun and see what happens.
I'd put my money on a bad CVX valve unless your tank is really that bad.

it is the on/off valve. I had huge problems with one, and im just going to rip that valve off and throw it in the trash, and put on a normal valve again (by "i" i mean a proffesional airsmith).

What kind of on/off valve were you using? I'm using a crappy pmi stock one that came on my pure energy tank. I'm thinking about just getting a smart parts one. I've heard good things about them.

the thing about on/off valves is theres nothing keeping dirt andstuff from entering our gun.on the inside of a pin valve theres a valve seat which is just a flat piece of rubber.when the tank is full nothing can get in the tank.my guess the that something got into either your tank or your asa and is clogging up ur cvx valve.this might not let enoguh pressure get into the gun and causing velocity problems.

replace the rear bolt drive spring, if its an old tiippy they get worn out and loose tension, and if its new, if you leave your gun cocked, it will prematurely wear out the spring
***the rear bolt drive spring is the long one in the back of the gun

Well, I took it apart, and oiled it again, and it seems to have gotten the job done. Maybe It was just thirsty.
Thanks for the help.

ive had my tippy over 6 years now and the drive spring is fine.
first thing i thought was that the rear bolt o-ring wasnt oiled well, which would then not allow an airtight seal for the blow back gases to recock the gun...90% of the time it is the rear bolt o-ring that isnt oiled thats the problem

well they do wear out. the only time my tippy had problems was when it was doing exactly what pigstick was describing, very frustrating. lol, i remember getting to the snake unnoticedd, popping up with 3 people right in front of me lined up for me to shoot, and my tippy shot a ball that sputtered out, then it de-cocked.
it was f'd up like that for a month, i cleaned and lubed everything and it still wouldnt work. i finally got a new drive spring and it fixed everything.
so i unno, mabe my spring i got from the factory was ****

Ya, yesterday it crapped out in the middle of a game, so I got pissed off, and kept playing. I had to recock about every 4 shots.
