First tell us what you are looking for in a marker. Its an awsome marker if your really into mil-sim or woodsball. But for its price there are better guns more geared towards speedball if thats what your into.

This is true, but trust me, once you fret so much over getting you first marker, you realize how much it doesnt matter, because you will just start obsessing about your second gun! lol, well thats just me

Sure the a-5 is good, but i would recomend the 98c over it just because its alot cheaper for more or less the same thing. If you think you arent getting into paintball alot then just get the a-5 because overall its a better gun than the 98, but for a first gun, the extra money isnt really worth the extra quality if u plan on upgrading soon.

The a-5 is better than the 98c stock. but i would also recommend the 98 custom probably just because its alot lighter than the a-5. my dad had an a-5 and the cyclone feed system was always braken down. and the 98c is easier to disassemble than the a-5.

i'm right w/ my bro(he's my "twin" on here). the a-5 is little more than hype, it uses extra air to do little more than and egg will do for your feed rates. if u do woodsball or milsim the tippy is for you(well for ure fiirst gun ne way) but u will eventually come out of the woods(just like the cave men!) and play speedball. then you'll want something else...m-98c is uber reliable and fairly upgradeable, not that i truly would want to spend my money uping it.

EDIT: one other thing about barrells: general n00bish thought is that bigger= better, to a certian extent they do in some cases, but there is a limit to that. and about 16" is the limit now read this.
don't spend that kind of cash on a barrell unless its got a veryy good rep. the only one in that kind of price range i'd reccommend is the flatline or a broomstick. as has been said many many times here, for a tippy, get either the flatline(which is questionable), a good dye, or the J&J ceramic.

heres the low down on the cyclone feed system. basicly, insteid of having a standard hopper that uses gavity to feed the balls, or an electro hopper to force or agitate the balls, the a-5 uses air from the valve system(as does the r/t), to turn a paddle wheel that works much like the egg hopper. in effect, every time you fire the gun, this feed system turns, forcing another ball into the chamber. good idea, but, we're talking about a novel system that does little more, if anything more that what an egg or halo can do. in short, the a-5 cyclone feed system is little more than in integrated air fed, force feed hopper system. hope that made sense.

The Cons
the cyclone feed system and its housing adds weight to your gun
since the system uses a special hopper, if yours breaks, you're screwed until you can get a new one
it uses more air than what your marker would normally use(and tippy's tend to be somewhat of hogs on gas ne way)
if it breaks, you're out of action till u can get parts to fix it(edit: that is unless you want to hit the plunger to feed your balls!)

I would totally reccommend not spending your money on the a-5, insteid i would opt for the 98 Custom, and spend the cash you saved on upgrades for the 98C, also, spend part of that money on one of the following:

1. if you get the react trigger i would reccommend getting an egg or a halo hopper.
2. if you do not intend to get the react trigger, get either the empire reloader, or the viewloader revolution(pref. 12V system)

the revvy will be plenty fast for you tippy if you don't get the react trigger...

hope this helps!

its after 12" that the accuracy is no longer an issue....so dont get a 16", unless your gonna be playing airball.

do NOT buy that BT barrel...get a custom products 1-piece...you wont be disappointed

I decided to get the A-5 instead of the 98c, because I find the design of the A-5 more appealing. The quick field strip time of the A-5 is also an added benefit. As for the cyclone, I haven't had any breakage yet, but I do hate it when I only have 3 or so balls left in the system, the balls want to jump around instead of getting fed into the chamber.

thats the other drawback to the cyclone...it turns w/ a fair bit of force and it bumps it around...
