Is it neccessary to oil the marker?

I have a A-5, I'm kind of new, and I'm not sure if I need to oil the gun after every game. Do I need to?

If I do, then what do I need to put oil on?

you dont need to but its best to.

use any kind of pneumatic air tool lube, NOT WD 40, DO NOT USE THAT.

hoppes #9, ACI airlube...there are many others, but look for airtool oil.

vaseline is very good as well, one of the best.

you will want to oil your o-rings, there is one on the rear bolt, and one on the front bolt. you will also want to put 4 or 5 drops directly into where your tank hooks in to your gun, then dry fire it w/o the barrell a few times. the oil keeps friction to a minimum, as well as keeping your o-rings from going bad. it is also good to put a couple of drops of oil on your ball detent and on your bolts to reduce friction there. it is also a good idea to make sure that there is a thin coating of oil on your exposed(well any) springs. this will help prevent them from rusting out. more or less, oil aything that comes in contact w/ other parts or that has o-rings. once again heres a list of things to oil:

1. bolt o-rings
2. about 3-5 drops in asa and dry fire(this lubes up your valve system)
3. bolts
4. ball detent(it tends to get hard and may crack off if u don't keep it at least oiled once in a while)

thats about it! you should be good to go.

btw: i reccommend that you oil your bolt o-rings after every few hours of play or after every day of play, oil up everything else every few games, or just before you store it for a while. that should keep everything good to go and minimise problems on down the road.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: one other thing, i recommend using hoppes #9(which u can get at wally world and gun or sporting stores), airtool oil is harder to find but does a lil bet better job overall, especially for oiling your valve inernals. those paintball lubes are really not better to speak of then either of these(generally cheaper) oils.
