Like I said b4 guys, im sry if this falls into another thread but, I have a tippy 98c with nothing but a 14" Tru-Flight barrel.(I'm getting more cuz my grandparents gave me 800$

) anywho, this fer now until the weekend... anyway, i use CO2 (a 20oz.). Heres the problem, I shoot and the ball has a terrible lob that cant get any further than, o say.... 70 ft.?

I noticed this problem during a woodsball game in the reveene in my backyard. I have a chrono and measured my usual FPS (290) and it kept on lobbing. the CO2 is turned in all the way and i had a full tank when i started. do u guys know whats happening? 0?

im not sure but try cleaning out your barrel. this belongs in the tippmann forum just so you know for later. it also might get moved to the tippmann forum anyways.

So ur fps is 290 ? but the ball only goes 70ft? Werid...
is ur barrel clean? is the bolt in correctly? are the balls dirty? do u have a leak anywhere?

And w/ ur 800 get nitro and a nice gun

ok, i cleaned my barrel and shot 4 out my window (into the reveene) and its still lobbing after about 70ft.!! ARG!!!!

Guess you can't snipe. Try oiling the internals.

guys, you are all missing the point. if he is shooting 290, it will go the same distance it always went when the gun was shooting 290. i have no idea what's wrong by the way.

anyway, with that 800 buy a used timmy.

Maybe he can't judge distance? His 70 feet might be 120 feet to the rest of us.

Take your barrel off oand run water thru the barrel and then squeegee it out reall good and also what kind of paintballs are you using? When you say "lob" is it like losing velocity really quick or is it some kind of wicked curve? If its got a 290 fps velocity the problem is likely the barrel. Might need a good cleaning like I stated earlier or maybe its messed up but just clean the barrel really good and try it again and see where we get and dont forget to tell us what kind of paint you are using?

ok, thx guys, i guess.anyway, it isnt just 70ft. my opinion, ive got a shooting range back there that is exactly 150ft. i shot now and barely hit the 60ft. mark now. i cleaned it again, cleaned the barrel so thoroly so many times, and its getting a lower range now, (57ft.) and by lob i mean i level it the best i can against a garbage can and shoot, then it just curves down almost right after i shoot it. Im using marbalizers(those r good, right?) and i swapped tanks to get a full one. its just getting a lower mark! i dont really want to get a new marker but if its necessary ill get one with the 800( i dont want a DM4 or a matrix (if i can afford them) i just want a semi-noob gun)

ERG!! i need sum help, im inviting 9 people tomorow to play sum woodsball! i cant just say i cant cuz my gun is a piece of ****.

Do you have your stock barrel? If so try it out and see if that makes a difference.

holy crap! i quickly went outside and shot with my stock, it only went 25ft. at the most! now i c y people say those things are only good for paper weights......i switched back to my other barrel and it only shot 43 ft.

this sucks... its loosing about 5ft. every 13-15 shots now! i cleaned it again and nothing is working! now with my upgraded barrel, im only getting 32ft.! i think im gunna get a new gun, my tippy served me well but i think it ran its course.... (im not a gun abuser, i treated it like a child! i oiled it, cleaned it, i even read bedtime stories to it!j/k...) im thinkin of getting an autococker or sumthin, can u give me sum pros and cons for an autococker 2k3 or sumthin? and the price? thx

Have you tried adjusting your velocity? Bring the velocity screw all the way out and see if goes any further. If not, sounds like you need to clean your internals. Take it apart and oil the o-rings and make sure they aren't busted.

Also make sure the CO2 tanks you are using are full.

thats because ur tank is low...lol

even if u filled it up...most tanks have small leaks...so after a while they will leak air out.

And r u sure u have a chrono...cuz there is no way the paint will "lob" at 290 fps...curve yes...but not lob.

Go to a field...get ur tank filled..and try ur gun at the field with a actualy chrony

i do have a functunal chrono and i didnt mean lob. i just couldnt think of a better word at the moment. anywho, i polished all the internals so thoroly, its so shiny it practically blinded me(j/k) but it is shiny. i took out the screw all the way and shot, no difference. I got another refill and shot, lost 3 feet from 12 shots. cleaned the barrel again, no difference. i took it to my cities only proshop

(we only have one plus a scheels that has crap) and got my gas line and the thingy where u screw the gas in, everything is fine.
