Ive used Draxxus Midnights in there before as well and had good results. But yeah, you get a break in there, until you run a swab thru it your shots are gonna have a curve worse than the grading scale for the Alabama SAT exam.

Can a flatline shoot as fast as a J&J ceramic barrel if both have a responce trigger? Also, does the flatline really shoot perfectly straight and add 100 feet to your shot. I was going to buy it but everyone is saying bad stuff about it and its hard to know what to believe and what not to.

The added range is not as good as it sounds. Anything past 150 ft on any paintball gun has a pretty good chance of not breaking. But the trajectory is nice and flat. The barrel has nothing to do whatsoever with your rate of fire.

the main reason the flatline is popular is the flat trajectory, not the distance. like smitty said, it after 150ish feet the chances of a ball not breaking are good.

I didnt notice any. You want the velocity set at about 285 fps. Faster than that and you will start to experience erratic curving in all different directions.

My friend has a flatline on his 98c and he rains paint around me when I try to rush him and he usually hits me.
It difinatly shoots farther than a regular barrel.
I think its great for woods but not so good at rec or speedball.
Still a verry good barrel, I thought about getting one so I could rain paint back at him then rush him when he jumps behind cover.

quick tips for the FL
make sure u have plenty of gas or AIR (results in erractic shots if low on gas or air) have an expansion chamber and/or regulator, keep veolicity at 280-285 FPS for best results( rear veoclity ajuster makes ur life eazier when cronoing), i find a strip kit will work well to take apart FL quicly for feild striping (they have both in M98c and A5), if the ball chops simply open da feed, add water down the barrel, and squqgee out, cheapest paint to get any with this gun with good results is draxus scorch 10 bucks at wally world (AKA wall-mart, u pay for what u get, u were warned), best is marbz or pmi premiums. Really any medium bore paintball will do the trick.TEST UR GUN w/ FL BEFORE PLAYING to find best paint match for u and to make sure every thing working properly. OR U WILL REGET IT. ANd most importantly
READ INSTUCTIONS THAT COMES WIT GUN
also i tried a trick with using tefflon tape when attaching the barrel into the adpater but it genneraly results in more chopping, it better with stirp kit (this from personal experance, although tefflon tape dose work and makes easier ajust the barrel in battle ) hey try out, it up 2 u do whats best for u.
follow these tips and FL will preform like asked

No need convincing me any more. Got my a-5 with flatline last week. Got to field test it yesterday. The flat trajectory is a HUGE advantage when playin in the woods. I got hits that I normally wood not have gotten, at least not as easily as I did with flatline. It isn't gonna make you invinceable nor is it gonna make you hit everything you see. it is IMO the best setup for "woodsball" type playing. It exceeded my expectations which were pretty high. But listen to the other posts. Good paint and proper velocity is crucial to getting good accuracy. And in short range you are just as accurate as you wood be with any other upgrade barrel so don't listen to the hype that you are giving up accuracy for range.

Then you just need to feed a pull through squeegee through the barrel, and pull it out the other side. And it’s clean.

What about the A-5 flatline, is it easily cleaned?

The A5 barrel is easily reomoved and cleaned like a standard barrel. If it werent for the flip down elbow on the 98's a broken ball would be a nightmare.

Teflon Mod Flatline
 Yeah no prob.
As you u know it is a pain in the arse and down right impossible to remove the flatline barrel without tools. So the teflon mod allows u to remove the flatline barrel without tools and makes it easier to adjust the barrel correctly.
Simply by using teflon tape u rap it around ur barrel end in where it goes into the adpater. The adpater should still have the bolt in it, make sure 2 tighten about half way or snugly. Remember not to tighten all the way or u can't the barrel to go in at all. Place the barrel in the adaper and volia ur all set. The barrel will be snugly in adapter. It takes a bit of str 2 remove it and ajuster it but thats a good thing.

OK, "I'm new to this forum and im looking into getting into paintball, i wouldl iek to get a tippmann.
I see alot of people are saying that the flatline barrel is good for woodball, but not for rec/speed.
What are rec and speedball and why isnt the flatline barrel good for those if it has a straight directory

I guess this is the place to go if you want any help with the flatline barrels. I just got mine last weekend and the balls fly straight for maybe 150' then they just fly way left or way right any suggestions?
