Smitty isn't a kid.
He is in the navy and has a wife, who is also a moderator.
EDIT: He put that nicely, imo. He could've been much harsher.

Look I really could care less if you were One hundred and eleventy one years old. What I care about is getting the right information to the right people and I often get short with people who put out incorrect information on a product that has been plagued from its inception with ignorant rumors. Plus in the process of earning my bachelor degree in nuclear engineering technology I picked up a nasty sarcastic nature as a defensive mechanism due to working in close contact with condescending know it alls for the past 8 years.

I’m done. I got my point across. Whether or not we have problems in the future cannot be predetermined. I will do my best not to make any errors in my future posts so that Smitty won’t have any reason to pounce on my mistakes. I guess he receives some kind of gratification from that, and posting his credentials from his education on here in a retort must make him feel some sort of self-worth. Just so you know Smitty, you are not the only one that has an education. I too am an Engineer. I have earned a M.S. in Structural Engineering. I am a Senior Structural Engineer and Project Manager for the City of Houston, Texas. The subject is dropped as far as I am concerned.

Anybody got any vids of the Flatline in action? Preferabbly on a 98C. I've read a lot about them, but many people have many different results. I want to see one being used. Nobody I know has one so I'm screwed in that aspect.

Heavy as any other barrel. Maybe a few more ounces.

Well, I'm getting a 98C w/ the flatline for Xmas. This is my first marker and I was wondering if I should install it or go to the shop to have it done/ aligned and such.

You should be perfectly capable of installing it yourself. And aligning it. Follow the directions, and take some tips from this thread.
You'll do fine.

Yeah aligning it is easy for someone with even an inkling of mechanical knowhow. Its best that you know how to align it your self so that you dont have to take your gun back to the shop every time you disassemble it.

the grip (actually called the shroud) hides the curvature of the barrel. Its cosmetic.

Great. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Also, I'm getting my 98 Custom with the Rufus Dawg veritcal feed pre-installed and with the double trigger for $200 shipped and no tax. Is that good? I'll be installing the flat line shortly there after. I just don't know much about the vertical feed. I've read good things about it though.

Well now you've lined yourself up for a conflict.
The center feed will be right where the flatline shroud will fit. So, you'll either have to
cut the shroud
not use center feed
not use the shroud
or not use a flatline.
The flatline will work and install perfectly fine with no shroud. It'll just look like your gun got run over by a truck because the flatline has a good curve in it.

Really?
Wow, thanks for the heads up. Is the vertical feed worth it?

I appreciate your help. I have two choices.
1.Go with the stock 98C w/ flatline
or
2.98C w/ vertical feed, double trigger and JJ ceramic 14"
Opinions/ Suggestions?
My gf is getting this for my Xmas gift and I wanna make the right choice. BTW, I only play woods 2-3 X's a year. Maybe more if more of my buddies get in on it.
