Exclamation Tippmann Pro Carbine

What is a Tippmann pro carbine? I was at a store the other day, looking at RT's, and flatline barrells, and I came across a Tippmann Pro Carbine marker. What is different about these markers from a 98 custom or an A-5?

this belongs in another forum...ill answer your question though.

the procarbine is an older marker from the late 80's early 90's i believe...it is the favorite for woodsball of some of the people on this forum and still exists as rentals at some fields. It's rare to find them though. They are about the same as a 98c in my opinon (ask someone in the tippy forum i don't own tippys)

One thing different about the pro carbine from 98c's and m98's is that the Pro carbine can't be upgraded as much as the others which is probably why most people get the 98c instead of the pro carbine.

You can still put nitro on a pro carb, you can still put an electro hopper on it, and a new barrel... you can still lighten the trigger..

ITs upgradable. I don't see the point of wasting $200 on Rts and flatlines and all this other junk when you can just make an initial investment of 400 bucks and get a cheap cocker or something.

What kind of upgrades are you talking about? You can get just about the same upgrades for a pro carb as you can a 98.

Of course not the RT or flatline, but I don't consider those to be as worthwhile as everyone says they are.

I want a Pro carbine badly. I'm making an investment for a mag first though.

One of the main reasons I dislike 98 customs and model 98s is that EVERYONE has them. Sure they get the job done and all, but theres a LOT of hype going into them.

they really dont need upgraded ether, theres tons of barrels for them and thats all you need, also a stock looks sexy on them, i prefer the new style carbines over the old

The carbine didn't come in the 80s or early 90s, it came way more recent than that. What it is is a mix between the pro-lite and sl-68. Stock it's better than a a 98c cause it actually has pretty good accuracy. A lot of people that hunt a lot and are just getting into rec woods ball like the style of the pro-carbine because it feels more like an actual rifle. And I will admit that it is nice how it is designed, you can hold a pretty steady aim with it. I'm not sure on the air, but I'm pretty sure it's more effecient than 98c and a-5.

The problems with it are that tippmann seems to have just forgot about the gun. It's really hard to find upgrades for it, like an expansion chamber. No flatline for it, rt or egrip/bolt. But usually the person that uses this gun isn't interested in upgrading anything more than the barrel. A guy I played woods with a lot had this gun, and it seemed to work pretty well for him.

It's also a very simple design, and is easy to clean and maintain. It's not like the 98c.

Pro carbine are very nice markers, they are tanks just like any other tippmann.
My field has roughly 25 used ones for sale, since we are closing down and no longer need them, they should sell quick too.

The pro carbine is a mix of the .68 carbine and the pro lite. tis basically a .68 carbine with the prolite fore grip on it.

There can be a great deal of upgrades you can perform to the .68 family of markers, they have their own unique feel.

barrels
double finger trigger grip frames
tigger mods
maddmann spring sets
regs
x chambers
easily modded for R/T
double triggers
custom bolts
custom hammers

here is a lil one Im working on with a flatline, working on a egrip for it also, If you have a llil imagination you can make it anything you wish
.

because I was thinking of getting a 98c, and putting a double trigger, rt, stock, flatline, and viewloader evolution 2 hopper, but since everyone else has 98c's, and I saw a pro carbine, I was thinking of that instead.

So it can be done, it'd just take a little work?

.68 carbine was the first to come out, then pro-lite, then pro-carbine. and .68 was around late 80's, pro-lite was....90's i think and pro-carbine was mid or late 90's sort of old guns, but i wouldnt trade my old .68 carbine for the world.

Well, I think I am going to get a Pro-Carbine, instead of a 98c, because from what I've heard, they're good, and since I don't wanna be just another guy with a nice 98c, yeah. Found them for $144 on ************.com, anyone know anywhere cheaper? I'm fine with paying $144, since I'll be putting a deal of dollars in it for the custom work, but just wondering if anyone knows anywhere cheaper?

The only reason I'm getting a Pro/Carb instead of 98c as my second marker is because everyone has an 98c. They look better too
