Hoppes #9 and others even some paintball oils even have waxes and additives that tht will eventually gum up your valve, I repair guns for people who say they are broken and 7/10 times they jsut used the wrong oil on em many times I just strip em clean em and use a good quaility ari tool oil like marvel air tool oil and VIOLA! the marker is fixed.
Thank you very much! 45.00 please! LOL

also try XF-7 made by MD Labs. its designed for guns that are exposed to regular water and salt water, high operating temperatures, and fast cyclic rates because it doesnt wash off with water it stays where its put and doesnt burn off b/c of the gun heating up due to high rates of fire and/or hot climates. I've used it with my AK-47 and after a day of plinking the XF-7 was still there and protecting the metal. Since then I've tried it with all my paintball guns and it performs better IMO than air tool oil or hoppes 9. although i wouldnt recommend inserting XF-7 in the ASA to oil the internals.

matter of preference is all. I'm a gun freak anyway and obsess about my guns being in perfect condition, always oiled and clean etc. i just found that XF7 is far superior to what the paintball market has to offer because you practically never have to oil the internals again b/c it stays put and doesnt evaporate or get absorbed into plastics. but whatever floats your boat and makes you warm and fuzzy inside.

The biggest issue I'm aware of is petroleum-based oils / lubricants will expand O-rings.

expand and/or destroy them. bottomline is on paintball gun oil is get something that doesnt have petroleum dissilates in it and its perfectly safe for your gun.

you should use the oil, but the grease is good for use on things like the back bolt, sear, sear pin, etc to make it run smoother. gun grease is used for the internals of firearms to keep them operating smoothly(although it does attract dirt...). hopped no9 gun oil can be bought at wall-mart for like 2 bux or less. it is the staple of what a gun oil should be. paintball gun oils tend to just contain some stuff to somewhat better protect your o-rings. hoppes no9 works the best.
