A remote and an expansion will work together, but the setup seems kinda redundant. The remote will put the CO2 vertical on your back, so the expansion won't really even see any liquid CO2.
To put the expansion in, you need the vertical adaptor kit from Tippmann or other source. This will allow you to attach an expansion, regulator, or a CO2 tank where your front grip would normally be.
So now you have the Vert. adaptor and your expansion hanging from it. You might need some fittings to hook your remote into the expansion depending on what it was designed to plug into.

as part of your remote line there is the little adapter that screws into your asa. it has a removeable fitting that the quick disconnect attaches to. you can take this fitting off of that asa adapter and attach it to your expansion chamber. that'll give you a nice clean look. i'm assuming that the threads are the same, they should be.

ok well i havent bought eithe 1 yet so should i just get the xchamber or the remote? i just played the other day and dry ice shot out of the slot w/ the cocking rod and i am planing on getting a new pack, probally a 4+1 so figured id get a romote. will a regulator do anything with co2 or is that just for comp air? tks
also what kinda of upgrades should i go for as far is internals. what will a new bolt do? i want to get my gun working as best i can w/ out like ebolts or response triggers and i have little money to spend anyways

If you're attached to the idea of not having the tank on your marker, go ahead and get a remote.
I have an expansion on my 98 and I can still get some flakes of ice to come out of it sometimes. This isn't really something to worry about on a tippmann, as they're built tough.
A regulator with CO2, would have to be a reg designed to work with CO2 or you run the risk of damaging it by the temperature and pressure changes. If you had a remote OR an anti-syphoned tank then you might look at a reg. Alot are for HPA only...I think Palmer's has a CO2 reg.
For internals...Polish the ones you have and look at some of the home trigger mods. New bolts for a 98 are a gimmick if you ask me. Look around the threads here and the mods and articles on www.model98.net for some more and pictures.

get the chamber. i'd much rather have my tank on the gun for extra stability for shooting.

A very good point...And the setup is probably going to feel pretty lopsided or top heavy without a tank on there.

hey your idea WOULD work
get a Verticle adaptor...then instead of having a xchamber screwed into it you just screw the remote into it
personally i thikn that would keep the gun extremely light...
watever floats your boat.
