Remote and a Car Stock?
Ok, I want to stick a Remote and a CAR-15 type Stock on a Tippmann 98 custom. I'm aware of the Pros and Cons of remotes, but what about the CAR stock? Will it balance out the Hopper and all that up front? What are your experiances with them? Has anyone [here] used this setup before? Did you like it?
What I'm trying to do is cut down on the profile I have when lying prone, along with taking a good 2 pounds off the gun, and moving it to my harness. I'm finding that the 20 oz tank gets in the way a lot, and is hard to position under my shoulder for accurate shooting. I also want to improve my gun's performance for the winter. A remote will prevent some of the freezing problems associated with Tippmanns in the winter, correct? It will also act as an anti-siphon, assuming the tank is vertical. Can't beat that for $30 now, can you?

Ok, the remote...very good idea. I love my remote, it's great for woodsball. Now, on the CAR stock. There are two sides to the issue. You have to compare looks versus how much it helps you aim.
With a real gun, a stock like that helps you aim a ton, but in paintball, remember that you have a mask that sits a full 2" off your cheek, whereas you would normally rest your cheek on a real gun stock to aim. You can't quite do that w/a paintball mask.
Then, there's the looks issue, it looks beautiful on a 98C, but is it worth it.
Don't get me wrong guys, I know it's not too hard to get used to aiming with the CAR stock, but it's so much easier and much more practical to get a Gas-Thru-Stock.
Look around for a Gas-Thru-Stock. PM me and I'll give you a website where you can find it pretty cheap. I've got one and I really prefer it over a CAR stock (I've tried both).

I hadn't thought about it, thanks for pointing that out. I'm using a Walther 20mm open red dot (Reflex style), and so that won't be a problem. I appreciate you offer, but Gas thrus are just to low, it feels wierd, holding the gun so high. Same reason I don't like the tank as a stock. I like the M-4 stock, and moving from AEG level Airsoft, I want to be closer to what I'm used to.
That's a good offer, Smitty. I think I'll take you up on it. I'll get in touch after the holidays. Is it ok to wait that long? Thanks.
