Bad Co2 Problem, Please provide any input...
I got two 20 oz tanks filled at ace hardware yesterday and I shot like 100 paintballs in my backyard because i had just got my A-5. Then i went to a friends and we were playing PB just me and him and rite when it was getting good (he ran up to a tree 10 feet from me) i leaned out to shoot and my co2 is gone.. starts makin that weird long sound when it empties and that was it. Then today a full (or so ace hardware thought) lasted me probally 150 shots, not even a whole game. It was just 3 on 2 and i was on a team of 3 and they both got out and i was surrouned by 2 dudes i shot one and got shot in the shoulder but it didnt bust so i turned and shot at the one guy left and my co2 starts emptying again. wtf? it didnt even last 2 balls. my friend i was with has an imagine and he got his filled at ace yesterday also and he didnt run out after 5 games. Any idea why they didnt last long?? Id like to fix that problem lol

What is the temp your playing in? Condition of tanks...hydrotest date? and Burst disk?
Not sure what you mean by they just emptied out.
Was it like there was a leak or it just didnt have anymore left?

Might not have chilled the tanks before they tried filling them, didn't bother setting their scales, anything like that maybe. That's of course assuming that your tanks are in good order.

well how cold is it outside? cold will make a full tank seem empty untill its back to room temp. And like it was mentioned if they do not properly fill the tanks right away it wont be full.

Weight of tank when filled minus the empty weight. Need a scale accurate to a single ounce. And it has to be empty empty, not just stopped shooting empty. If you can press the valve in and it doesn't hiss it is empty.

yup, they just didn't know what they were doing. go complain. they didn't properly purge the tank of air b4 filling it so they couldn't get a full fill(that and they were dumb...)

here is some advice.
dont get your tanks filled at any store other then paintball fields or shops. They wont care if they please you or not cuz paintball at those stores are extremely small. However paintball fields and stores will care more because paintball is basicly everything to them.

A. Yell at them and tell them to fill it right
B. Go to the paintball store that is 45 min. away
C. Stop complaining cuz you wont do A or B

you were playing in 40-50 degree weather? for co2 thats pretty cold, at 75 degrees its at about 850 psi. at 50-60 degrees i only get about 400 shots out of my 20 oz, but at 70-80 i get over 1000. if you shoot fast it gets even colder... you could have a 10 degree tank in 40 degree weather and by that temp your pressure is below the operating pressure of an a-5. oh yeah since the a-5 uses co2 for the cyclone feed it uses more gas. using more gas = colder tank = running out of co2 faster. mystery solved.
edit: the only real solution to this problem is get an hpa tank since it is so cold outside. hpa isnt affected by outside temp the way co2 is, its always the same pressure no matter what temperature.

40-50 degree weather isnt real bad on Co2, i play in that alot around the fall/winter time. You wont see any major problems with Co2 untill you starting getting into the 30s or lower.
You may want to just take the tank to the pb shop again and make sure they fill it full...something i would do is bring a didgital scale with and weigh it right in front of them. Then if its short you can chew their A$$ or if its right you have the assurance you won't run out so fast.
Also have you chronoed the marker yet? i just thought of this too if the velocity is cranked way up your going to use a lot of gas... maybe check into that as well

Or you can get HPA and look right on the tank guage and tell if you are getting shorted or not.

I dont have enough money to get HPA I need a lot more stuff before that. All I have is a 20oz co2 tank and a stock A-5 and a mask. HPA costs way to much and I could never talk my parents into why its worth so much money. I just tried A today (yell at them to fill it all the way up) and they gave me a discount and it feels a lot heavier then it did before but one tank feels a lot lighter then the other but juding by how heavy it feels isint very accurate. Ill try these out im probally going paintballing tommrow and see if they do any better.
