99% of the time you'll want to just run straight there. Your backman should cover you.

If you're playing front, don't bother shooting. Your back guys should be covering you while you get into position.
If you're mid, shooting is your preference. You don't have as far to go and you will be carrying more paint than a front guy so you can lay it down to cover yourself and your front teammates.
But just book it as fast as you can to your bunker if you're playing front- chances are you won't hit anything if you're shooting on the run and you won't be running as fast as you can. It's better to do one thing well instead of trying to do two things at once and sucking at both.

if you play front, don't worry about it. mid players can shoot and run if they want to, and back players sometimes just stand at the starting gate a few seconds, or do a slow, steady walk towards their bunkers. if youre playing recball, chances are people wont be shooting fast enough or accurately enough that they would hit you off the break anyways. and from all the way across the field, you will probablly get bounce unless they can land one on your hopper, or on the lense of your goggles.

off break if your front run like a bat outta hell. Thats the only way your making 40 or 50 off break. If you try to shoot you'll miss, get distracted, and get shot. Have your mid and back lay down some paint.

If your a front guy, dont shoot. Just haul ass. Im a front guy and i rarely shoot off break unless someone else is playing front instead of me.

Unless he has another name, I play mid/front, usually, I just run like a motha, but when I play mid, I run but throw a couple rounds of shots. If you try to get t othe snake, just run, NOTHING else, because you don't want people to know you're there.

As a backplayer...I spray and do a rather quick walk to the closest standup I can get to...post up, and spray my lanes...front players need to high-tail it for their bunker...mid players can go either way, or try to run and shoot...

if youre a pro, you can play front and shoot while running.... watch dynasty or russian legion, nobody just runs on those teams. they run and shoot. its a hard skill to work on, but if you can do it, you will be a great player. running and shooting is key to winning games

Here for the UXPL all the games are 5-man and Xball format so that's what we always have to do.
P4IN7 is right as well, after a lot of practice you can do both reasonably well. But if you search up on some Dynasty vids (like on Dynasty Dysected) you'll see that Fragoza and other front players will just book it. And they're fast as hell.

it depends if i am taking the fifty or what...and how many bunkers i have for cover on the way there, depends on how fast i have to run, and if i have angles to shoot while im running.....but its really all in what you need to do for your team to win...

i definately shoot to almost every bunker i go to otb. Always. because as D:< @ Dynasty said, i play a 5 man format(on xball fields), and you DEFINATELY want to hit someone off the break, so the more paint in the air the better chance you have at doing that.

Hell yeah he is. I was watching Dynasty Dysected the other day and when they're talking about movement off the break you see Angel hauling ass to the bunker to the left of the camera.
I run the mile in 5'11" (which is fast for never being in track) but I had to back it up and watch it again. I couldn't believe how fast he was booking it.
IMO his hair is what gives him so much speed. Magic.
