I believe its 5 and 10 man teams.
The main thing i can recommend is going to a local speedball field and recuirting from there.
Also a good thing is to bring some of your friends into paintball that live around you. They may already be in it.

As for the speedball area, you should play with them,on their team for awhile and if you like the cut of their jib so to speak, tell them that you would like them to be on your team and tell them what you expect of them if they do join.
Good luck!

There are many different formats....1,2,3,4,5,7,10......The most common are 3,5, and 7.
Just start a team with your friends and ask your local field owner if he knows where/when there will be tournments, etc.

Ok i would say that if your gonna start a team and want to be a 3 man team i would recomend that you should recute at least 5 people and if your going to start a 5 man team recute 7 people etc.. What this does is puts pressure on your teamates to do there best in practice to work for there spot in touranements this works even with beginner teams but dont wait till the last second to chose your team for a touranment let them know before had so that they have time to relax and get the stuff together.

When starting a team the main thing you need to do is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE if you dont practice you wont be good, but thats not the only reason you need to practice if you never practice and get together with your team its more lickly your team will fall apart. Practice doesnt even have to be going out and running drills it can just be you and your team going to the field on a sunday and just playing as long as your playing together your good.

I would say you will want to probably practice for maby a month before your first tournament (aka about 4 times once a week) you dont always have to practice once a week but before tournaments i recomend it. To find your first tournament I would ask your local field if they have any beginner tournaments comming up. If not then just look on good old google for tournaments in your area (make sure its a beginner or youg guns if its your first one). You usually have to register about a week in advance but the sooner the better and if you can pre order paint i would do that to but its not that important.

Just have a good time and make sure your team knows what to do off the break and you'll be fine in a tournament.

(you better not get pissed off at me for saying google cmon its flipin google)

Enter in a few tournaments and do good. Then once you have a few tournaments under your belts try to get a local field to sponsor you, with something like free adminssion or free air. To cut costs down that way you can practice even more.

If you and your friends are starting a team, the players playin depend on how mnay of you regularly play together. Believe it or not, reading helps. Get paintball literature of any kind. Magazines, Books, forums, anything. Look for team tips and practice drills for your team to do, to start you guys working together, like a .... team.
Find a field, perferably close to you, that: 1) You can play at regularly, 2) You can afford to play at, and 3) Actually has competitive players. You can only get as good as the people you play against.
Communication is of up most importance while your on the field with your Team.
