Yeah, if your young enough play young guns. If you cant play Division 3. I would highly suggest waiting and taking time to practice as an NPPL even t is very expensive and has a high level of competition. Try playing more local events like the CFOA or something first.

Hm, i think its open to everyone. I wouldnt do it unless your willing to waste thousands of dollars and never have a shot at winning. Unless your a poser and want to play 1 event then tell everyone your a D1 baller. If you do and somebody finds out you will be ridiculed and teased for the rest of your life. Ive been playing for 5-6 years and im just now starting D3. Thats just how tough the competition is. So unless you are an absolutely insane baller, and youve played and practiced with the pros for a while i wouldnt even think about playing something other than young guns or D3, you pry wont win any of those anyways. Play local tournys for the next 3 years, and then maybe, just maybe, you'll be ready.

If it took you 5 years to get ready for D3, you may want to consider other sports..

Well, i played rec for the first 2 (you know, once every two months) Then i played my first speedball game. I didnt actually start playing serious (more than twice a month) untill 2 years ago. So its more like 2 years its taken me. Plus i dont have $$$ when your 13 or 14 or whatever so i couldnt paly. Now that i got a car though i can actually play more and i play 4 times a week and hold my own now. The first 4 years of my paintball were not even serious, unless playing once every 2 months and using a marauder is serious.

Some people don't have the money to get tournment quality gear. It takes time to save up and a commitement (Ecpecially if your in school). I'd raither play with guys that have had years of experence but has taken them time to save up money on my team raither than kids who get a ton of money from there parents and play constantly one summer and are now playing D-3 right away. You'll find that the guys who have to really committe hard earned cash to the sport care more.

I started playing when I was 13, and was offered to play with a D2 team after my first year playing..
Being in school or having more experience has nothing to do with it. You can spend less than $500 and have everything you need to be competitive. If you can't get $500 then once again, paintball might not be the sport for you.

$500 when your 13? Your a lucky mother. I couldnt get more than that in a summer when i was 13. I dont see how you can have that much money and be saying you dont get a good amount from your parents. At 13 you cant get a job, so your saying you bought $500 in gear when you were 13? Now my parents make a decent amount of $$$, but i have to pay for all my own paintball stuff. Playing a ton is out of the question when not making hardly any money.

So your saying the rich and spoiled are the only ones that can play paintball? I don't think so.
At 13 $500 comes mostly from your parents, even if you have a part time baby sitting job or something like that.

I had a full time job when I was 14. Getting like $6.50 an hour with like 45 or more hours per week. I was just about to get a real big raise too. But I had to go back to school.
To this day my mom hasn't bought me anything more than a couple cases of paint back in the day without me paying her back. The most she ever spent on me was $315 for a NME, but I paid her back.
So that just goes to show you that you don't have to be rich to play. I ball in a rookie/novice division right now, but I don't think im going to be able to ball as a rookie for much longer.

I never said I had $500 when I was 13, I was saying you can have a full set of gear and a nice gun for $500.
I spent maybe $1000 on my paintball stuff before I was 15.
The key to making money is selling things you don't need.
