My friends mom was just diagnosed with cancer and we thought about making a huge one day tournament called Ballin' for a cure. All the entry fees and food stand money will go torwards the fight for cancer. Winning prizes would be a trophy. The event would have decent entry fees and it would be a BYOP event.
Do you think this would turn out well?

Thats a great Idea, really spread the word about it. Set up a web site or something. You could get a huge turn out for it. If it was in my area I'd go for sure
Heck yeah, that would be gigantic if you advertised it well, you could probobly get local buisnesses to sponsor the trophies (thats what schools do) so there'd be no cost there either, i think it would be great, and id go if it was close enough!
I Support America, if you do too put this in your sig! ICD Owner's Group Member 96!!
If your parents DON'T pay for your paintball stuff, put this on your sig.
Its a good idea. Hit up the cancer societies in your area. They have media contacts that can help you promote it. Sometimes there are bands for after parties that will play and donate their performance for the exposure.
Good luck. If you get anything organized, I will help you promote it here and on other forums that I frequent.
It's a great idea. One of the scenario places in my area (Splat Tag) is doing that for either AIDS or Cancer and a good amount of people that I know of are going to be going to it and I plan to join them. It should work, just remember to advertise a good amount. Go to PBnation and advertise there, set up posters on telephone poles. And maybe a Cancer society of some sort will put money into the idea and you can buy prizes/trophies with the money that they give you.
That is a wonderful idea, if you want it to be a serious thing, be serious about it. Go to businesses for sponsorship and be business like about it. Hope it goes well, keep us posted on everything.

I just attended a scenario yesterday called hunt for the cure that was for Huntington's disease. Volunteers worked, all $ went to charity. Raffles, and they gave away to A1's: 1 to the person who went around before the scenario and took pledges from the town and the other they sold raffle tickets for for $5 a piece.
