under layers for tourney's

i see all these padded shirts, shorts & pants such as empire grind pro slider pants, grind pro shirt, chest protector. are these legal in tournaments to where underneather your jersey and pants? anybody have these types of protective clothing? how are they?

It largely depends upon which tournament series you play. If you play the PSP, they generally limit you to two layers, i.e. a jersey and then an undershirt, pants and shorts, etc. As far as the padded shirts go, I wouldn't recommend wearing these in a tournament, however you might be able to get away with it. Even if they do catch you, I'm sure all they would do is ask you to remove it. In the rules they generally say that anything with excessive padding is prohibited, but I have seen people wear those types of chest protectors as their only under layer.
