I am 13 and live in the outskits of Sacramento, I really want to get into the sport...i make $13 a week (chores). I play at CEPP, capital edge paintball park. The closest store is 50 mins away ( my parents would take me out there about 1 time a month...) Should i play rec only ( i really want to play tourney with team!!!) or could i get sponcered or join a team? WHAT EVERY INFO YOU HAVE THAT WILL HELP ME TELL ME!!....please
Nobody will sponsor you for what you're doing. Nobody will pay your paint fees, buy you markers, or pay your field fees. Paintball is a very expensive thing to to, especially at a tournament level.
If you get a team together and start doing stuff, reds will discount gear you buy, etc; that's the extent on what sponsorships you'll get though.
I agree with matrix. unless you get up to pro level you wont get sponsorships from a company. but maybe you could go to a local store and get them to sponsor you,you where there logo they pay you a little $,you could put together a presentation and show the manager of the local store
my $.02

Your TO DO list to get what you desire:
1. Learn to spell "Sponsored"
2. Register at Sacpaintball.com
3. Join a young guns team (I live in Sacramento, there out there)
4. Play in at least 1 tournament
5. Ask your TEAM if they want to try for a sponsorship (CEPP is currently sponsoring any team that wins their new NOrCal league thing or w/e)
6. Don't expect to get a full ride, at best you might get 10% discount
If you have any more questions about Sponsorship or anything of the sort in the Sacramento area feel free to email me at Tschogl.Conrad@gmail.com
My name is Conrad (duh) I play at Davis paintball field nearly every weekend and will be more than glad to give you pointers or answer questions

The only sponsors you will find for a new team if you were to create one would be Redz. They will discount your gear just like Matrix said. Getting sponsors from Planet Eclipse, dye, etc. Is very hard. A local paintball store near my house is sponsored from Planet Eclipse and Smart Parts. They spread there sponsorships with the teams that branch off the store. So I try getting the city to build a store or something closer if that's possible aha. But Good luck also watch that video Matrix Suggested..
First of all find a local team that are looking for players and ask them if you can tryout.Second of all no bodys gonna sponsor you if ur not on a team and you have to prove your self so get good results in tourneys. Our just go to a tourney just to watch and learn from what the best teams do and try to immitate them. Practice, Practice, Practice.

What is it with all the kids who barely play wanting to be "sponsored"? No offense, but play the game, have fun, dont worry about competition until you've done this for a while. Paintball is expensive. Sorry. Always has been, always will be. How many people do you think would play basketball if they had to buy a new ball every time they played (sometimes 2)?
No matter what you see on tv, the tournament scene is not the backbone of the sport. So just go out and play when you can.
Like I said, not to bust your bubble, but even the local stores are not going to support a team unless they're getting something out of it.

The main thing sponsors look for is your ability to "present yourself" well. Why? When you present yourself well, you present the company well by wearing their logos.
So as many people already pointed out, run a spell check before you submit an application. I run a website to help new teams get started and find sponsorship.
Having said that, if your team is selected you will most likely be given team discounts, Not handouts. Register for an account at SponsorPaintball.com and your application will be sent to interested companies.
Other than that, try making a video of your team playing in games and tournaments. Show that video to local companies and maybe, just maybe you'll land some good sponsors.

one way to look at it is. a company is never gona sponser you unless they're getting somthing out of it. you have to prove to the company that you are worth sponsoring. nd as many ppl have said your not going to get everything paid for...like conrad said 10% discount if your lucky. jus sayin
