Play in the motorcity paintball open at the present time there are 4 individual companies giving away team sponsorships as prizes www.motorcitypaintball.com
but the thing is there aren't any paintball fields near me that i know of and like i said i don't really know anyone who plays so i can't exactly make a team.
Where do u live if i may suggest buy the paintball 2 xtremes magazine! they actualy have an index where u can search for a feild near you! good luck bro.
Yeah a lot of people think that you have to get sponsered by a company within the Paintball community.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Sometimes places like a Car dealership or a Local restaurant would be more than happy to sponser teams as soon as they know how big the Paintball community is, and More importantly how it will Benefit them.
As soon as they know what you can do for them, then you can begin to discuss what they can do for you.
But remember don't expect a lot of money at first expect little things.
Exactly, look at Nascar. You see hundreds of stickers from sponsers on the cars from like cat litter companies. WTF does paper cat litter have to due with nascar? Nothing, but they want the advertising.
Guys if you are just starting out the team, don't be thinking about big sponserships right now. Get your team together, play together for a long time, get good, know your teammates, your markers, who plays what position all of that, then start to join some LOCAL tournies. Play a few of those until you start placing good (like if there are 12 teams and you place 4th and its your first tournament thats pretty good. Place good in some tournaments and the start to make a protfolio, resume, make a dvd, pics, website maybe, and then start thinking of sponsers. I don't know if you should look for sponsers or let them come toyou, but start small.
That would be so cool to be sponsered by a car dealership, those rich a$$es lol. You like walk into a car dealership one day to ask them to sponser you and your like hello (shake hands and hand them your resume) we have a lot to offer each other blah balh would you like to sponser us blah blah blah, but befor you say anything we would like to buy a high end lexus... Of course well sponser you...
I have delt with sponsorships for a while in drag racing, and I can tell you first hand that the first post of this thread is only the start of how to get a sponsor.
You have to remember that if you are sponsored, you are getting something, rather it's balls, guns, air, travel fees, you get something out of the deal.
The thing to remember is that the sponsor wants something back also. Like the above post says, that is advertisments most of the time. They are giving you something, hoping you will spread the word about them, and they will get a boost in business because of what you are doing for them.
You can put on a front while you are on the field, and act like a badazz, but you better bow down to your sponsor, because they are giving you product or money. They are paying for you. It might be a discount at their store, but that is money lost because they would other wise be selling it at full price.
Sponsors want something in return, and it is your job to give it to them.
Sponsors give you stuff, and you work for them in a round about way.
whoa whoa whoa, who ever said stores are scarce but FIELDS ARE EVERYWHERE?!?!? crazy.
thers two fields within 1 and a half hours of me and 4 within three
but theres 2 stores within twenty minutes. i wish i lived where you live!!!!!! BAHUMBUG!! and my fav field is now only open on saturdays because no one goes there. i guess new york aint the place to be paintballin.

I think the most important thing to keep in mind is your perspective on the game. You have to be able to have fun without having all your expenses covered. I am not going to say that you shouldn't think about tournaments and want to live the dream.
However, you have to earn it. Don't ask for sponsorhips.
If you have no faith in your ability to be seen and sought after by companies wanting to support your team to some extent, then you have a bigger problem. Chances are that it is your conscience telling you the truth, you aren't worthy of sponsorship and you have more work to do. Focus on improving yourself. In reality, you don't have to have tournaments to get better. That is one thing that bothers me. Get physically transcendant, learn to move. I don't care who you are or how big of a stud you are at rolling your gun...a guy that has superior physical ability to move as he pleases is going to be the most saught after icon in paintball. Study fields and angles, watch as much video as you can and learn to recognize the tendencies of pro's(strengths and weaknesses). Your physical fitness, a sharp mind, and an emotionally controlled focus is what you need, granted tournaments help you further develop those qualities. But figure out ways to do things. That is what is important, NOT SPONSORSHIPS.
I know I have rambled on, but remember one more quick thing. A sponsor who is coming to you will get you a lot more than than if you are crawling to them via resume, email...blah blah blah.
