my current team has two sponsors and we have yet to play a tourney, it really helps to play with people who are deep in the local scene, as now we can practice as much as we want, cus we have a field and shop sponsorships.
If you go to pbreview.com then click on Paintball Fields then put how many miles youre willing to drive and then your zip code. Itll tell you of just about any field in your area and on the sponsorship im still looking for someone to sponsor my team so im still learning too but maybe the pbreview.com site will help you with your field problem
I'm 13 and that "Hey, I'm thirteen years old and me and my friends want to start an amature team. Will you sponsor us" is probaly totally me... Me and my friends really do wanna start a team and did, and we've never played a tourny and were kinda new but we got really good kids, we checked the entire city and we got like 5 great kids we could find 13-15 and we just formed and Should we practice more and like how long or try and get a sponsor now? I think we should practice at the local feild for a few more weeks before we even think about getting a sponsor. The rest of the team is basically undecided.

if your kindof new and you have good kids then they should be the captain not you. if you want to get sponsor then make a bunch of profolios and do a page on each player about them and you should have a list of tournies you played and pics of your winnings and what not. Send that to a bunch of local stores there is hardly a chance you will get sponsord by local paintball fields if you are a noob though. good luck
when you want to be sponsored just let the company know that you are willing to spread the word of thier products, and gear. that u will also use thier gear, and let people know that you are with thier company.
wal mart will probably never sponsor you, if ur trying to get sponsored by non p ball i would go for family owned places and not chain stors and huge companies unless its high level tournies that ur playing
Well it seems your hole team sucks (sorry not trying to flame just the truth) and you guys need more practice, it just seems your all wannabe's and want to be spnsered for bragging rights. But if you want to be sponsered go to your local paintball shop, get in tight with them, start working on other players guns and they will soon think your all good players (remembbr to play games very often to get better) then after a while say to the owners that your starting a team and that you want them as a sponser and from thenon follow "Birdman18's" advice and wah-lah (mabey)
*IF I FLAMED YOU SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO, ITS JUST OPINION*

YOu probally wont be able to get sponsored by dye/proto, draxxus, smartparts (not that you would want to get sponsored by smartparts), boblong, or anyother big companies with out getting sponsored and joing a local feilds team. Talk to any feilds that would be possible to play at around 2 times a month. That what most feilds make you pratice a month. That should help and it will make you alot better...... I did and now i met cool people and our team is going to play PSP soon. Next year we should be playing D3
I have spent the last four years building an arena about 100 miles northeast of Denver, CO. At this point i'm flat broke and I've been trying to figure out a way to give my arena some more publicity. I've started a website, Pine Bluffs Paintball Official Website, and I've also been trying to find ways to sponsor my home team and arena. Any ideas for sponsorship, or sites that would accept links for my site or at least some suggestions for improving my website?
to achieve sponsorship you have to make your team ( OR FIELD) marketable to the companys you are going after. you have to be able to do something for them to make them want to sponsor you. dont get it in your head that anyone is going to GIVE you anything. They wont. Its all an exchange for promotions and product placement and as a good team you should promote their products well. Dont go after 90 companies go after products you feel strongly about.
Say you love autocockers and JT masks, so go after JT Sports. Say you love Vents and Minis' try for Kee Action. the bottom line is that you have got to try. the best thing to do is TRAVEL, dont just play the local tourney or scenario @ your field every few months. you have to expose yourself and team to the regional scene before you can ever go national. and to do that you need sponsors. IE my team is based out of San Antonio Texas, However we play outside of Dallas and all over the state on a regular basis, we went to Florida @ beginning of DEC. Is it expensive, yes. But planning and bugeting are all keys to running a sucsessful team. Really focus in on what it is that you want and develop a unique selling point to the companies you are going after. Persistance and professionalism are key. Good luck
Also as a field, it is important to make sure your home teams are helping with marketing your name and doing so in a positive light for the sport, nothing hurts worse than BAD word of mouth
good advice but what about someone like me who doesn't really know anyone who plays?
Well you just need to play a little more a your local paintball field. The more you play the more you'll recognize some regular players, and maybe they'll want to join. Another thing is ask the manager or whoever runs the place if you can put up some flyers to advertise you're starting a team.
I am currently trying to start a paintball club at my school and once approved I can start looking for sponsors. I was wondering if you could have more then one sponsor? Then I was thinking about using T shirts with are sponsors on the back and team/club name on the front.
Another good tip is to send thank you cards yearly or monthly to your sponsors with a team photo and just a simple thank you card.=)
Well...Luckily for my team, our couch Justin played pro NPPL with some teams and for our team owner, his father is VP of South Western Airlines...Sponsors for our team came along easily.
