A friend of mines say he was watching some video and I think someone was talking their barrel off then the commentator explained it was some sort of tatic....and idea? I also heard some ppl bring extra barrels with them on the field.

Maybe taking it off to swab it.... Ive personally never heard of taking more then one barrel out with you.

i saw that on a 2003 nppl huntington beach vid i have but the game has changeda a bit since then and it would be quite hard to do that in a tournament now imo

yeah i used to do it but now i just take my bolt out, and run my squeege through (i have a pull througH). If i break a few, it gets really unaccuarte, and i don't have my swab yet (just orderd one off Xpainbtall).

I wouldn't take my barrel off and clean it. Maybe in a long game. I used to do that back in the day. Now if I do chop (very rare) I'll just keep playing and shoot it clean.

maybe he took it off so the balls wouldnt go as far and he could lob teh balls over a bunker?

no.... the balls go like 5 feet..... it would be better to take out ur halo with a victory board and shoot it at them than to lop balls out with no barrel...

Even if they bring another barrel on the field, remember, they can't leave it on the ground if they switch barrels....they'd have to haul it with them the whole game.

I would never do that. Thats leaving your front players hanging in the wind or if your a front player its just putting up a big sign for the other team to bunker you.

Lol only if your a back player and th games at a crawl, and even then, like bluedevil said, you would cease to comunicate or give cover fire while changing.

I was watching paintball on OLN today and it showed a pic of a player standing at bunker and paint was being lobed over quite a few bunkers, it almost seemed like it was coming from way far away. and the player didnt realize it at first then once he did he started dancing around a lil then got taged. You couldnt even see the man shooting it was pretty crazy.

You could just open the top of your hopper, grab a few balls with your hand and chuck them over.
