All of this wiping controversy is annoying and stupid. I'm making this thread in hopes to clear things up a bit.

People that say no to wiping

There are really two sections to this one category, I'll break it down even more for you.

Rec/Woodsballers

They look down on wiping because they don't know any better. They think that wiping is wrong because everyone else in their category and skill level of play also looks down on wiping. They normally have never played in a tournament, so they don't know how much wiping actually occurs. They also don't realize how much it is needed to actually win some games in higher skill levels of play.

Tournament Ballers

This group of people look down on wiping because they aren't good enough, or haven't played in enough tournaments to understand that wiping IS and ALWAYS WILL BE out there in the tournament scene. Most of these players are nublars too.

People that say yes to Wiping

There are also 2 sections in this category.

Tournament Ballers

These guys have class, style, and know how to ball (for the most part). They understand that tournament balling is the future of the sport, and wipers are dominant in this scene of play. They also realize that if you want to win, you will wipe. Easy enough.

Rec/Woodsballers

Wow, if you wipe and play woods and rec only..look into buying a gun and killing yourself.

The moral of the story is that wiping is accepted in paintball. It's welcomed in tournament ball mostly, which is the future of the sport of paintball. If you look down on wiping, you're probably a nub and shouldn't be posting in the threads about wiping.

tl;dr - Wiping rawks. If you disagree, you lose.

If you cheat, it means your bad at paintball, and are frustrated because you can't win without cheating... AKA wiping means you suck at paintballing

No, you're wrong. When you get better (if you do) you will understand that you will need to cheat win when you play with good people. It's part of the game that paintball has turned into.

and if the other team whipes (all do), then why not? its only fair?

and in tourneys, theirs stuff on the line. Id rather whipe the paint, and win, then not whipe, and not be a cheater...

Well I liked it but it could be elaborated. Like if I bunker you and shoot you in the harness, mask, and gun and you wipe them all thats not cool, but I mean if its right on the arm and you can rub it off on the bunker when you're turning to go out the other side its cool. I ignore more than wipe, remember though if you wipe like crazy you're gonna get some extra love in the form of 10 paintballs going 200 miles an hour at your balls.

Ok. As if you really care, here is my take on the whole wiping thing.

I have been reffing more then playing lately and while you contend that wiping is part of paintball, I disagree. It still sucks. If you are agressive and make a move and get hit, your OUT. Not, your out "only if the ref sees it." Not, give my arm a quick slide on the bunker so I can play more. Not dive in the mud to cover that chest shot.. There are such things as gentleman's rules. I will deduct points and even eliminate players for wiping.

I mean this is the fundamntal element of paintball - if you are marked, then you are elimnated, PERIOD. If we are to comprimise that basic integrity of the sport, then why have rules at all?

I have no respect for those that bend the rules to thier advantage in this regard -- you might as well be in politics. Call me naive if you want, thats fine. Just don't do it on my field cause I WILL be watching.

I would rather lose every game I play, then to win by cheating (whiping). It makes me sick that no one has any morals.

You sound like a little kid with that lame argument. It is not about wining or losing, it is about playing better then you did yesterday.

Your entrance fee to the tourney pays for the refs. Let them do their jobs. Plus, it's not cheating, its bending hte rules. I don't blatantly wipe a hit off, it may however get covered up with bunker rub.

i dont get it, i just made a thread just like this, i asked if you did it, yes or no question, then bob said it was a spite thread, spite for what idk, but yeah since yesterday i relize that it is important to wipe.
