Those are the best punk bands I know of. Of course early greenday is good (even before dookie)

after i started listening to CRASS, i lost all respect for any other "punk" band.

idk about the clash, they play a large part in the death of punk

and if your gonna listen to the misfits, you better listen ONLY to the Danzig era (dont listen to that rip off **** from '83+)

So are most bands people think are punk lol. 4 out of 5 people (not really true..) don't know what it really is and just listen to mainstream crap. The other day I had an argument with 2 freshman about this. They don't think rancid is punk at all. It kind of annoys me.

Same with metal. People refer slipknot and system of a down as metal but they aren't even close.

i dont really think of rancid as punk, they are getting too popular to be punk(hot topicy), plus they suck i hate their "studio" sound. im sticking with my crass, NOBODY listens to crass, and thats how i want ti to stay.
