What To Do
What should I play? Bass, Guitar, or drums? I want to play one of those, and I can't decide.

i would say go with bass or guitar. try playing both and see what you like. i tried guitar first, but i was a lot better at bass, and i liked it more, so i play bass. then again, you just might like drums, but i know that i wouldnt be good at it.

theres not really any 'natrual talent' involved with guitar and bass, its just a matter of practice and one of the things i havnt realized till now is knowledge. if u want to be real good be shure and actually learn your chords and notes n ****, helps O SO MUCH in writing songs

that's the biggest load I've ever heard. The greats are not who they are simply because they practiced all of the time. You think Carlos Santana, B.B. King, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Kirk Hammett, Randy Rhodes, Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, and other gods got that way because they just practiced their scales and chords? Are you saying that the kid who can't even play the main riff of Enter Sandman even though he's been practicing it all year has as much talent as any of those people I mentioned? if you truly believe that, then your songs you write probably consist of no more than some chords and scales put together with some loose music theory.

actually i dont know any theory and barelyt remember all the chords... i still write all my songs in tabs becuase i dont know music, and in not one of my songs have a used a straight forward chord, i usually pick it up and play around till i find a tune i want then work it out, which is usually inspired by my attitude and the day
and i didnt mean that there werent greats out there who do have loads of natrual talent, i mean for the avarage kid running around in highschool who picks up the guitar usually sounds good becuase of the time he puts into it. my bad for insulting great artists im shure there was a great deal of natural talent involved

Well I dont think I have any natural talent for the guitar or bass, so I think I'll stick with drums.

have you tried guitar and bass yet and really spent some time doing it? id say go to a music store and try out the drums, guitars, and basses. see what you like the most.
