What Happened To The Value Of Angels???

I have been out of paintball for a while now and I am looking to dive right back in.

The last marker I purchased was my 06 angel speed, and i paid quite a bit for it.

I tried to appraise my own marker by just briefly looking around, and I have noticed that the value has significantly dropped on angels. And that seems to be the general consensus around forums.

My marker is worth about 25% of what I paid for it now.

What the hell happend to the value of WDP Angels?

I still love my marker, and it definatly is the best marker I have owned, I am just curious about what happened?

WDP puts out a "superior" platform every year, the fact that your speed was the lower range gun from their lineup doesn't help your resale.

One of the other reason's angels resale is in the toliet is because they put out a gun every 3 months from 2005 to late 2006 when they finally stuck with the A1 platform.

In that time they had the 05 speed, 05 fly, 05 speed fly, 06 speed, 06 Gat, G-7, G-7 fly, i'm forgetting some i think. Anyway the point is that they had so many different guns that they hurt their own resale value.

Just from reading the title... It's because they came out with the 5peed, G7, G7Fly, Gat, A1 within..what..a year or so?

A combination of WDP nearly going under and their latest gun, the A1, being a relatively big failure. I think the large amount of models they put out contributed, but it wasn't one of the main factors of them doing poorly. Bob Long put out way more Intimidators with even less performance differences than the Angel models, and Bob Long is obviously still doing pretty well.

Also take into account that many (not all..) players do NOT take good care of their equipment. Be it tinkering with the innards without knowing what they're doing... beating on them.. and other forms of abuse/neglect. NOT to suggest you do this... but to suggest that many folks are pretty gun shy about buying used guns with high price tags. Internet prices are way low... you'd be better off to sell to a friend, or use it as a trade in with a good dealer who can give you a fair price (still much lower than retail).

As a side note.. I bought my 05 Speed for $400 thru a local field dealer, who is also an angel cert. tech.. and was willing to warranty the marker for 1 year. My new G7 was more than double. I'm happy with both purchases!
