Yeah, that's what AOG was implying, Angel Owners Group.

by chance - do you enter programming mode by holding down the trigger while turning the power on?

Not intentionally. For some reason the trigger feels a little different now. I don't get that mouse click sound

Ok I'm an idiot. I adjusted the trigger too much so it was holding the switch in on the board and it was going into programming mode. It's working now but the battery is almost dead.

Seemed weird that it was entering programming mode right off gate - hence the question.
Triggers can be tricky. Everyone's got their own method and preferences. After playing guitar and copious amounts of mouse&keyboard video games, I like near zero travel and a stiff magnetic return. Others like a bit more travel, little more play, little larger/smaller angle on the thing, etc.

I like as short a throw as possible. Still need to play around with it a little more to get it just right.

I have a feeling we could use each others markers with no complains then. Exactly the same as I like a trigger to be.

That's what happens when you're brought up on Nintendo and Blade triggers....

I like a lot of movement in my triggers. Maybe that's why I hate the rake style triggers, and prefer the scythes. I like it to bounce back a little. It seems like I can get it going a little faster that way.

Oh - suppose that's how I"m weird then...
I very very much prefer scythes - I just don't like them to move around. Like. At all. To the point where - if the magnet were removed - you could blow on it and shoot yourself in the face. Couple millimeters travel at best.

Gross. I've tried playing like that, and it's just not comfortable for me. Maybe I'm just used to the movement.

I'm totally with dprimmy. I love a REALLY strong magnetic return that's super short. MOST markers I can't get set up this way, but my Quest, Demon, PM8/DM9 are all really close.
