on a 98 custom you wont have a problem (or at least i have never), for a spyder, try it, if it does start to come off. go to a local hardware store and try an oring

ya but i have an A-5. If i got an o ring there would be no spot to place it tho.

Would a little threadtape be a bad idea?

if it didnt come with an Oring, i wouldnt worry about it, the tape wouldnt hurt, but may be unnecessary.

I'm thinkin mines a different model or something. There seriously is no slot for an o-ring. I was told that a tank o-ring stretched over it just after the threads will keep it from falling off.

i dont think you were told right that doesnt really make sense to stretch an o ring over after the threads

well it makes sense, it won't help it go tighter, but it will be pressed up against the inside of the barrel adapter thus helping the barrel to stay on...
