New Ion Barrel..

Hey everybody. I recently ran into some money for paintball junk, and I am looking to get a new barrel. I just need some suggestions on what to get. I would like to get a 16" All-American with a Blue-Polished front. Can anybody think of any other good 16" ION barrels?

**My Barrel Choices**
-14 or 16" All-American w/ blue polished front
-14 or 16" Redz Pepper Stickz
-14 or 16" DYE Boomstick w/ silver back & blue front
**Which is better: 14 or 16" barrel? I am hereing a lot of arguements about gas-efficiency problems with longer barrels. True?**

You will get various opinions on this, but here is how you can decide for yourself. Use your stock barrel and an after-market barrel of a longer length. Make your gun stationary on something and do a test. See if the longer length makes a difference. As far as physics go, the effective barrel length is not the overall length of the barrel; it is the length of the solid part of the barrel. There is a point of diminishing returns in regards to length of barrels, which is one reason you don’t see 45” barrels. IMO, after-market barrels will help with weight and looks of the gun and not much else. Rifled barrels, in my experience, will have slightly better accuracy than just plain straight, non-ported barrels. Remember, paintballs are still round and not the best type of projectile in regards to accuracy…a.k.a. musket balls.

Please don't flame me on this unless you have done tests yourself with different length barrels, a stationary gun, and HPA.

Flame you? Me? Have you seen how much I've been getting flame lately for apperently posting "innacurate information"? I never flame people. Thanks for the info. That really helped. I am now down to The 16" All-American, or the 16" DYE BoomStick, but I will most likely buy the All-American because it only costs $39.99, and the BoomStick is $64.99!

YouCantSeeMee, I wasn't talking about YOU flaming me (I should have been more clear). i meant anyone else that posts a different opinion is all! About your barrel choices, ask yourself what you are getting for that $40 or $65. Is that money better spend elsewhere on your equipment? I don't know the answer to that, just something I would ask myself in your situation! Good Luck!
