Monster Balls

Picked up a case at Sports Authority today cause I only had 30 bucks on me...and man do these things SUCK!! 75% of them were flat sided and every shape you can imagine OTHER than round! The shell also feels unusually soft. Should I try contacting Brass Eagle about it? Could be worth a couple free cases of paint, but I'm not really familiar with the company so I'm unsure how they handle stuff like this. Or should I not even bother and just return them to the store?

Nope, they're all like that. Good thing I found a trick to get the most outta your Monster Balls!

1. Take them out of the box and put them on a soft surface, a rack with a soft towel should do (so that not as much pressure is on all of the balls since they're stacked one bag on top of another [this prevents the flat sides])

2. Open the bags, or dump them in a container (remember, soft cloth dto stop the flat sides), and make sure it's not too deep. You want to have maybe 3 "layers" of balls most (so that there is still the least ammount of pressure on the balls at the bottom of it all) and keep them out of direct sunlight in a temp. controled condition (this lets the balls dry out and helps the shells harden).

4. Rotate the balls about twice a week (makes sure all the balls get even dry time).

3. Wait a while (do this about 1-3 weeks in advance of whenever you play).

4. Your Monster Balls sould be dry (no oil on them), and harder then before!

Try returning them to the store. Don't buy Brass Eagle products period.

I've never had a problem with Monster Balls, it's possibly you just bought a really really old case.

Truth, you get what you pay for, but Monster Balls aren't that far below the quality of the rest of the industry. They're good stuff for spray and pray type playing.

Monster Balls aren't that bad for the price you pay. Notice I say FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY. For around $30 a box, they're amazing. The have a long self life, you can shoot them through just about anything with little to no chappong (if you hopper feeds fast enough or is you have and ACS/ACT or eyes), and the fill isn't half bad FOR THE PRICE. For the people that just want to have some fun and get some paintballs to play with, the things I said above help get MORE performance out of your Monster Balls. So buy all the Monster Balls you want if you play Rec Ball!!! You won't regret it (as long as you have a good paint/barrel match).

No, monster balls are horrible. They chopped like crazy in my friend's shocker, and they were dimpled and flat. Why buy thirty dallar crappy paint, when I can buy Xball Gold for thirty.

At some stores like Sports Authority and Academy, they don't have those...

And still, for the price, it's still not a bad deal for the rec ball players.

If you can find better paint for the same price, GREAT FOR YOU!!11!!eleven!1!!

For the people that can't Monster Balls is a possible alternative that still works.

I've never had a problem with monster balls chopping, in fact I've had exactly the opposite. I wish I would have taken a picture because it was one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen.

I was wasting spare paint on some trees in my backyard, and my gun stopped shooting. The bolt was stuck on something, so I took my hopper off and checked it out. There was actually a monster ball lodged halfway between the bolt and the feedneck. Any other ball would have been chopped, but not monster ball

I the biggest problem would be them not busting when you hit somebody. The problem isn't really the quality of the paint, you guys with bad experiences must fail at looking through boxes of paint and making sure everything you get is legit and good quality.

I used monster balls for almost a year straight and NEVER had a problem with them as long as I made sure I was checking out what I bought.

Went to look for the reciept for them today and can't seem to find it. Guess I have no choice put to try and doctor them up to at least make them somewhat shootable...even if it's just to mess around in my back yard...

I play woodsball and my friends bought some because they were cheap, and he had a really great batch, hardly any of them were flat or dimpled (amazing I know) as bad as they usually were. They did bounce once in a while but not as bad as usual, I would give them a 7/10 for being cheap, and I agree, they are good for rec ball. Now my cheap paint is Nelson Precision paintballs, they break on contact maybe 95% of the time and only 33 a case. They are really great. I got a batch that were dimpled and they were still as accurate as the ones that werent.

the only thing i didnt like about monster balls is the oily fill... it didnt come out of my clothes too well ( i still have green dots)... but theyre great for someone like me who doesnt have the 10 bucks more for the case of visible impact... i felt they shot the same and had a similar break rate... it only uncocked my gun (w/ acs bolt) about 3 times (i was out-shooting my backup loader) and broke about 90% of the time on target and 0% in the gun. stingers broke a lot more in the gun.

The ones I bought were horribly dimpled and the shell was thicker on one side. But guess what. I didn't chop one ball that day. I use a Tippmann 98 Custom and it worked fine but I don't think it would work very well with a DM8 or one of those 30bps monsters so just calm down this is good cheap paint for recball.

man, ur guys store charges quit a bit. i live in a medium sized county, not a city or anything and i get the monster balls for 20 buck for 2000 rounds. i think they are good balls, plus i just play woods ball. but i think that when u buy the more expensive balls that just makes u think the balls are better because u payed more for them. the only complaints that i have about the monster balls are they dont break very well. but they still hurt, so as long as u play honest, who cares if they break or not. and there was a forum on here about fields banning monster balls cause the paint stains. it kinda does. it seems alot thicker than other paints. i was out back shooting a wash machine and the only paint left is green(from monsters) after it rained. so just because they are cheap and u get alot. its a good bargain

man, sponsorships ftw. I get xball silver and marbs for 35 a case. and stinger for like 30, but why get stinger when I can get **** twice as good for 5 bucks more(the reason why the price difference is so small is because rec paint doesn't fall under the sponsorship, which I don't mind at all).

ROFL! Wins 2nd funniest post I seen... No, that is not why we think the paint we get is better. Not because its more expensive. I played with about 6000 monster balls and wow did all of those swerve and turn but hey, recball is fun with em. And when i was playing with Nelson AND monster I can definalty tell the difference. Nelson precision is only $33.. And they flew accurate and broke most of the time while monsters bounced a lot since they were all soft and stuff. And yes I did use several different bore sizes.

The thing I like the most about Monster Balls is being able to shot people around corners. lol Seriously, for the money they aren't that bad, if you have trouble getting them to break just keep shooting.(or move in closer).

keep shooting is how you cause even more bounces. I look at them as a hazard and will not play with anyone who uses them, or rather will not play against them then again everyone I play with has enough sense to buy paint from the field, not wally world.

I've never seena fresh case of them. It's hard ot believe that they actually exist; I think they store them for a few years before putting them in stores.
